CRAIG BROWN: Not everyone can play the giddy goat!

Not all that long ago, you could depend on professionals to take themselves seriously and to be behaving like grown-ups. Just to be on the safe side, businessmen and bankers wore pinstripe suits and ties, as well as umbrellas. They seemed to be Captain Mainwaring and had a certain air of knowledge and discretion. They'll be courteous rather than chummy, authoritative rather than exciting, and they'll be courteous rather than chummy. The majority of MPs looked like Chamberlain or Gladstone. They were wearing black briefcases and seemed sincerely grave. When phoned by the Press on a dull Sunday, there will be one or two who cracked jokes and could be depended upon to say something revealing when phoned by the Press. They were regarded as 'Rent-a-Quote,' and they were never awarded with high salaries.

It may be one of the world's most profitable private equity firms. However, Blackstone's attempt to produce a Taylor Swift-inspired Christmas video hasn't quite earned the dividends its executives hoped for. The president of the United States company, Jon Gray, told the board that they needed to go on tour like Taylor' before the billionaire money managers mocked the world by in a music video. It features the most senior executives in the company, including chief executive Stephen Schwarzman, chief finance officer Michael Chae, and global head of corporate affairs Christine Anderson. The song's lyrics include "we buy assets and make 'em better,' and "we get a lot more return for businesses and private wealth solutions."

ROM OF ACTION: As New York is swept by the Los Angeles Angels for the first time since 2009, Yankees pitcher Tommy Kahnle destroys a cooling fan

The New York Yankees have kicked off a road trip in disgusting style, as their hopes of making the playoffs fade. With the Angels up to bat leading 6-3, a slim chance of a comeback was shattered by the eighth inning. Tommy Kahnle of the Yankees scored a runner from second on a ground rule double, effectively ending any chance of a win. When Kahnle hurled his glove at a cooling fan in the dugout, destroying it, he may have pitched his most accurate pitch of the night.

By becoming the first brothers to reach multi-run home runs for the same team, Bo and Josh Naylor of the Cleveland Guardians became the first brothers to reach multi-run home runs in the same inning. During the third inning of the Guardians' 12-4 loss at Texas on Friday night, each hit a two-run shot. With no outs in the third, Bo Naylor made a 1-0 change from Rangers starter Jon Gray's estimated 435 feet to right field at Globe Life Field. Josh hit a 3-1 slider from Gray down the right-field line, and it barely stayed fair to make it 4-0.

Jacob deGrom took the field for the Texas Rangers on Thursday in perhaps the best news of spring training. Since committing a five-year, $185 million contract with the club back in December, the two-time National League Cy Young champion had been fighting exhaustion on his left side. The Rangers have been pinning their postseason hopes on the arrival of deGrom, but the 34-year-old suffered with shoulder injuries in 2022, causing concerns about his future availability. deGrom threw between 20 and 25 pitches off the mound on Thursday, which is a normal workload at the start of spring training.

After two World Series appearances in the Texas Rangers' first 17 years, Jon Daniels is out as president of baseball operations, perhaps ending his tenure with a string of losing seasons. Daniels was being relieved of his duties immediately after the decision was not made not to renew his deal at the end of this year, according to team owner Ray Davis. Daniels was fired in his fourth season just two days after being fired. It came less than nine months after the Rangers decided to sign free agent infielders Corey Seager and Marcus Semien, as well as starting pitcher Jon Gray. When Daniels took over the Rangers at age 28, he was the youngest general manager ever to be in the majors.
