Aaron Patrick, a linebacker for the Broncos, has sued the Chargers, Rams, NFL, and ESPN for a knee injury

www.dailymail.co.uk, November 15, 2022
Aaron Patrick, a Denver Broncos linebacker, is suing the NFL, the Los Angeles Chargers, the Los Angeles Rams, and ESPN for negligence over a season-ending injury sustained during a game against the Chargers in Inglewood, California. Patrick was protesting a punt return to SoFi Stadium on October 17 and went out of bounds. Patrick's foot was allegedly rolled on a mat that was covering television cords and cables used with the league's replay monitor, according to the lawsuit. He was trying to prevent slamming into an NFL employee with the monitor, whom he did collide with, right before his legs touched the mat. After his foot made contact with the mat, Patrick said his knee bent awkwardly. The claims, which were brought in California by attorney William Berman, allege that the defendants were negligent in their SOFI STADIUM's operation in allowing a dangerous condition to exist by three mats placed along the sideline to cover cords/cables that led to the instant NFL's replay monitor.' Berman said that SoFi Stadium was not a priority for the NFL.

Aaron Patrick of the Broncos suffers a season-ending knee injury while playing with a sideline staff

www.dailymail.co.uk, October 19, 2022
Aaron Patrick, a Denver Broncos linebacker, has now passed away following an unfortunate sideline collision in Monday's loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. Patrick, a Broncos punt returner, was struggling to tackle Chargers punt returner DeAndre Carter after his enthusiasm led him out of bounds and into an unidentified sideline worker in Inglewood, California. The situation was exacerbating, with Patrick's left cleat caught during the accident. Patrick suffered a torn ACL in his left knee, which would require season-ending surgery, which would require season-ending surgery. In a text message from Lamont Smith's agent, he told NFL Network's Tom Pelissero that the carpet may have contributed to his client's injury. 'I was really worried about the way the accident occurred with the carpet being on the sideline like that,' Smith wrote in the note. On the carpet, a cleat was deposited attempting to avoid the media person.'
