Hendrikus Hubert "John" de Mol Jr. (born 24 April 1955) is a Dutch media tycoon and television producer.

De Mol is one of Endemol and Talpa's chief designers, and his income is estimated at around US$ 2.3 billion.

He is best known for his contributions to the first Dutch versions of Big Brother and The Voice.

Personal life

Wille Alberti, a singer and actress, was married to De Mol. Johnny de Mol is their son. Marga Scheide, a Luv's singer, was his partner from 1980 to 1984. De Mol also controls a substantial private equity fund that held significant stakes of vehicle manufacturer Spyker Cars and telecommunications firm Versatel outside of television. Linda de Mol, a broadcaster and actress, appears on some of Endemol's films, including the original Dutch version of Deal or No Deal (Hunt for Millions).
