Migrants can be charged by the gang, which has been operating since at least April 2022, with up to $6,000 to assist them in crossing the sparsely secured northern border. The migrants were then sent by the authorities to pick up the passengers and move them to other areas of the country. The gang was traced to five foiled smuggling cases in Vermont, which have resulted in the arrival of "at least 25 migrants" into the country. However, border Patrol agents have reported that several other unlawful crossings orchestrated by the gang are likely to have gone unnoticed, according to court filings.
