When Sara Taylor (pictured left) and Brazilian Adriano Portela were surfing in Uluwatu, Bali's southwest, they caught the same wave at the same time. Both believing they had the right of way, a brief skirmish broke out as the two bumped into one another as they mounted their boards until Portela bailed and left the tide to Taylor. However, Portela's fellow Brazilian surfer Joo Paulo Azevedo was not content to wait for bygones to be overturned and instead launched a brutal assault (right) on the female surfer.
