HE is only 11-years-old - but rookie climber Aden Thurlow is already heading for the top.
The Scottish primary school kid has become the youngest person to lead a climb up two intimidating giant sea stacks, one after the other. He was joined by his dad Alan and climbing instructor Jim Miller as they scaled the 180ft Am Buachaillie followed by the 197ft Old Man of Stoer, off the remote Sutherland coast in the northeast of Scotland. As lead climber he was responsible for ensuring that the correct safety gear was placed in the rock cracks to protect them against a fall. Sea stacks are the names given to towering pillars of sandstone set in the water. The first recorded climbs of Am Buachaille and Old Man of Stoer were made in the 1960s.

This has been aided by a good recovery that has allowed his public duties to be brought forward by 'about a month'.

Fellow centenarian Arthur Oborne also brought the bloodstained dog tags he was wearing when he was shot through the chest in Tilly-Sur-Seulles, just days after landing on Gold Beach.
Miraculously he survived after he was saved by his best friend, Walter, who pulled him to safety and performed life-saving treatment before getting him to a field hospital. Tragically, Arthur awoke days later to discover that Walter had been killed the very next day, along with the rest of his battalion from the 49th Division of the 6th Battalion Duke of Wellington's.

The BMF title between Max Holloway and Justin Gaethje comes before an all-Chinese strawweight showdown and then Jamahal Hill vs Alex Pereira take centre stage in a light-heavyweight title fight. But the appetisers are arguably just as tasty as the main course. Fighters who would usually take pride of place on a main card are down in the pre-lims and there are some brilliant match-ups to enjoy.
