Jessica Pereira, 32, was living in her Conrad Street home in St Albans, Melbourne, at 6 a.m. on Friday when it caught fire at 6 a.m. Firefighters arrived within a few minutes to see fire and smoke plumowing from the roof, with neighboring homes also in danger. Ms Pereira's body was stabbed for about 20 minutes before it was extinguished, and they might have rescued her from the house. The 32-year-old was resuscitated by paramedics, but she was unable to be saved.
