The shooting occurred in Poughkeepsie's Pershing Avenue Park on Sunday and culminated in a bloody beat just east of Pershing Avenue. It resulted in the arrest of two men, 43-year-old Rakim Paulin and 40-year-old Jeremy Taylor, who were both driving in the wrong direction before the sequence of altercations began, according to cops. Both men are facing allegations of unlawful assault after a bystander filmed one of the men pounding an unidentified victim with a baseball bat for the first time after reportedly assaulting him and another with a baseball bat. According to cops, the other survivor, who was seen lying on the ground bloodied as the man was being beaten, was stabbed by the same assailant seen swinging the bat after being held captive. A man can be seen wielding a shotgun as he menacingly wanders the street, seeming to be a sort of lookout as this unfolds.
