Jeremy Gara (born June 6, 1978) is a Canadian drummer from Ottawa, Ontario.
He is most well known as the drummer of the band Arcade Fire.
Gara is an active performer in a number of other projects, including work as a solo performer.
Career
Gara is currently a member of the Indie rock band Arcade Fire, and she is a member. He has appeared in many other bands in the past, including slowcore band Kepler and math rock band Weights and Measures, as well as a regular collaborator with Michael Feuerstack. He has also appeared on the eponymously named album Arizona Amp and Alternator, a collection of musician Howe Gelb's project. He has been endorsed by Istanbul Agop Cymbals and C&C Custom Drum Company. He has also been active in the bands Clark, Snailhouse (with fellow Arcade Firefighter Sarah Neufeld) and The New International Standards (with Arcade Fire members Richard Reed Parry and Tim Kingsbury). On Owen Pallett's Heartland album, he played percussion (Pallett being a former member and regular contributor to Arcade Fire).
During live performances, he often trades instruments with other members of the band, often taking on the role of an extra guitarist on certain songs.
Jeremy Gara revealed on January 14th that he would record 'Limn', his debut solo album, on March 11, 2016.' The album is primarily composed of improvisation and is accompanied by Gara's artwork. Reviewers have commented that it fits in with the Montreal electronics scene and could have no appeal beyond that.
On the television show Late Night with Seth Meyers, Gara has also filled in on drums on occasion.
