Sydney-based actress Catherine Laga'aia will portray Moana, originally voiced by Auliʻi Cravalho, in the titular upcoming live-action of the Disney movie.  The 17-year-old will star alongside American wrestler and actor Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson as she 'celebrates Samoa and all Pacific Island peoples'. What's more, the budding movie star will be making her father, Home and Away actor Jay Laga'aia, proud as she follows in his footsteps.

Jay Laga'aia has broken his silence on getting dropped from Play School in 2014 after 16 years on the successful children's show. The New Zealand-born actor and singer, 60, appeared on The Jess Rowe Big Talk Show and revealed how he really felt about getting the axe. On Tuesday, Marcia Hines returned to the stage to perform in Grease The Musical, just days after recovering from a health scare. The singer, who died and injured her head on the set of Australian Idol, has returned to action less than a week after being rushed to hospital after collapsing and injuring her head. She appeared to be in good shape as she took to the stage at Sydney's Capitol Theatre for a production media call performance of Grease The Musical.
