I looked across at Derek Hallworth, our unflappable studio director, who had visibly paled. 'We have no sound going out of the building,' he grimaced.

JANET STREET-PORTER: What I REALLY think about Rishi after our bruising encounter on Loose Women - and why it gave him a taste of what to expect on the doorstep (unless he talks about his precious Adidas Sambas)

www.dailymail.co.uk, May 17, 2024
He bounced in expecting a cosy chat. An hour later, the Prime Minister left the Loose Women studio after a bruising encounter that didn't quite go according to (HIS) plan. Keen to promote the government's proposal to stop primary school pupils finding out anything about sex until they are 9 (even though one in four 7-9 year olds have a smart phone), he seemed unprepared to reveal how he discovered the facts of life. Did mum and dad spill the beans to young Rishi? We are no wiser. If you're going to legislate about our children's sex education, then be prepared to disclose your own experiences.

'I've been waiting all my life to meet you, Mum': ANDREW PIERCE finally comes face to face with his birth mother… but to his dismay it's nothing like those tear-jerking TV reunions - part two of exclusive book extract

www.dailymail.co.uk, May 12, 2024
What do you say to the mother you haven't seen for almost 50 years? My plan was to reassure her that I was happy and to offer her any help she needed if she had health or financial problems. As I sat on the fast train from London to Birmingham, on my way to our first meeting, I also hoped, but wasn't entirely convinced, that the prospect of meeting me would bring her some closure. Unfortunately, I had a nagging doubt that might not be the case. So, I resolved to tell my birth mother that I wasn't looking for a deep and meaningful relationship, because I already had that with my lovely mum Betty who had adopted me. And of course, I wanted to reassure her that I was not planning to interfere in her life, in any way.

www.dailymail.co.uk, May 11, 2024
Was I doing the right thing? With the help of friends, I'd finally tracked down a woman who'd gone to extraordinary lengths never to be found. It was a typically autumnal Birmingham day: dreary grey skies overhead and drizzling with soft rain. I arrived in her street in a black cab, but she clearly wasn't in - so I settled down in my seat to await her return. As the minutes ticked by, my stomach started churning with nervous tension and I struggled to contain waves of nausea.
