It is a rousing patriotic anthem conjuring up images of Britain's long and proud past. But Rule, Britannia! According to Labour culture spokesperson Thangam Debbonaire (left), some people can feel "alienating" to others. The frontbencher said she wanted culture to be "accessible to everybody" and that it was "a good discussion for us to have." She was responding to a query about the opinion of cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason that playing the song at the Last Night of the Proms (right) would make Britons feel uncomfortable. "A lot of people" would comply with him, according to Ms Debbonaire, an MP for Bristol West since 2015.
Is Nvidia a success or a disaster land like Cisco?

Could there be parallels between the outlook for Nvidia and the fate of 1990s technology darling Cisco? Its shares have never recovered from their dot.com plunge. The dot.com downturn may not be repeated. However, its lessons are still relevant, such as the danger of putting too much faith in one share. Nvidia is a highly regarded stock to which you should have access via a fund or directly. The shares have almost certainly more upside. However, the ride is expected to be dominated by the thrills and spills of a 1990s video game.

The celebrated black cellist who performed at Prince Harry 's wedding to Meghan Markle is calling for flag-waving anthem Rule, Britannia! The Proms' last night is going to be cancelled. Sheku Kanneh-Mason, 24, tells Desert Island Discs that she performed at Last Night this year, but she had to leave early to prevent hearing the performance. The long tradition of a sing-along rendition of Rule, Britannia! This performance is a highlight of the annual Royal Albert Hall concert. However, there have been calls to outlaw it, however, because some fear it is too commemorative of Britain's imperial history and its involvement in the slave trade. The song, which stems from James Thomson's 1740 poem Rule, Britannia, and is performed by Thomas Arne, has the following words: "Britons never will be slaves."

JEFF PRESTRIDGE: Cash or equities? In the long run, it's a one horse race
www.dailymail.co.uk,

With interest rates at 5.25 percent, it has become increasingly difficult to press the argument for investing over cash. Many people see savings as safe, but it isn't because of inflation's erosive strength, which is presently chugging at 6.7 percent. On the other hand, they regard equities as inherently risky. Given the bleak economic backdrop and the recurring cost-of-living crisis, it's an understandable attitude. The order of the day is financial stability. However, when it comes to building long-term wealth, whether it be via a pension or an Individual Savings Account, the argument for investing (regularly) in equities is as robust as ever.

The Isa (individual savings account) is getting a fresh look more than two decades since its debut. In his Autumn Statement, Hunt is expected to announce plans to 'glow up' the tax-free initiative. Every tax year, you can stash £20,000 tax-free in an Isa. However, there could be an additional allowance introduced by the Chancellor to encourage us to support British businesses. According to Anne Ashworth, these changes should lead to a critical examination of your current Isas.
