Action on the field was met with wild scenes off the field as two men got into a fist fight in the stands at a baseball game between the San Diego Padres and the Minnesota Twins. It's not clear what started the fight, but video captured by a fan shows a man in a white tank top squaring up to a man in a black t-shirt. The man in black is seen throwing a few punches at first, which the man in the tank top was able to dodge with ease as he had the high ground.

After playing for years in Japan, Masataka Yoshida has already made some mechanical improvements at the plate during his rookie season with the Boston Red Sox. They certainly paid the bill on Sunday. Boston roared to beat the Milwaukee Brewers 12-5 after Yoshida homered twice during Boston's nine-run outburst in the eighth inning. Since Hall of Fame slugger David Ortiz's debut in August 2008, he became the first Red Sox player to go deep in a single inning.

Fans of baseball in San Diego had been waiting for a long time to party like this, and the Padres were more than eager to oblige. What made it so much sweeter was that they overthrew the mighty Los Angeles Dodgers, the best team in the majors this year and one that had beaten the Padres on a daily basis for the better part of two seasons. Jake Cronenworth recorded a two-out single in the seventh innings, but San Diego defeated the Dodgers 5-3 on Saturday night to advance to the NL Championship Series for the first time since 1998.

The National League hosted two games in close fashion as the Divisional Series of the MLB playoffs got off Tuesday. The Wild Card-winning Philadelphia Phillies defeated the Braves in the first game of the afternoon thanks to a flurry of runs in the third to fifth innings. Despite a comeback attempt by the Braves, they ran out of time, and the Phillies took the lead in a 1-0 series. Meanwhile, the Dodgers and Padres stayed close in the late innings, with Los Angeles retaining their 5-3 lead all the way to the end.
