Early life (birth to 2008)
Jackie Hill Perry was born in St. Louis on June 21, 1989. At the age of five, she was left homeless and abused sexually. Hill didn't attend church until she was ten years old. She said that a mixture of sexual harassment, school bullying, and a lack of interest from boys all contributed to her gender confusion. Hill's mother was a child at birth, but she began to have masculine habits, such as standing up to use the toilet at age six. She began dating multiple other women at the age of 17. Hill's second girlfriend suggested that she become a stud, a woman in a lesbian relationship with a masculine role. As Hill took on the varsity role, she began to gain interest from girls, explaining that she was "not the 'cute chick,' but that every girl wanted me as soon as I became a stud. I'd be in straight clubs and have girls yelling me. It was like a drug for a girl who is homeless and wants to feel loved."
Hill Perry used to smoke cigarettes and became addicted to pornography. She converted to Christianity in October 2008.
Hill's poem "My Life as a Stud" explains that "the Lord spoke to me one day." 'She will be the death of you,' he said. In that moment, the scripture for sin equal death clicked." Hill married her mother, returned to church, and began writing poetry. Preston Perry, the man who would eventually become her husband, was her first spoken word piece at a P4CM poetry conference in 2010. Hill gradually lost interest in women, and Preston suggested to her in August 2013 through the spoken word poem "The Covenant." In March 2014, the couple married. Hill Perry attributes her sexual evolution to God's transformation of her life.
Hill Perry had signed Humble Beast as an artist, according to the record company. Beautiful Eulogy's Because You Asked by Swoope and Instruments of Mercy are among her Christian hip hop albums. The Art of Joy, Beautiful Eulogy's debut album, was also released on November 4, 2014. Hill Perry, a staff member of the Legacy Movement, is also a staff member of the Legacy Movement ministry. Hill Perry, JGivens, and John Givez were among the many members of Lecrae's "Misconceptions 3" in 2016. Hill Perry and her husband are among "Poets in Autumn," a worldwide tour of Christian spoken word artists, including Ezekiel Azonwu, Chris Webb, Joseph Solomon, and Janette...IKZ. They produce collaborative and individual pieces that explore topics of faith. Hill Perry and her partner began "Thirty Minutes with the Perrys" in 2019. They give insight into marriage, theology, politics, race, and parenting.
