Revealed: Why Prince Harry and Meghan Markle purchasing a home in Portugal where Princess Eugenie lives is a 'power move' to make them more 'closely connected' to the Royal Family

www.dailymail.co.uk, October 21, 2024
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex , who were evicted from their cottage in Windsor by King Charles last year, have ensured that they retain a foothold on this side of the Atlantic by buying a home in Europe, the Daily Mail's Richard Eden reported. They are not the only royals who have a Portuguese property, with the Prince's cousin Princess Eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank , owning a home in Melides, south of Lisbon. Their decision to purchase a home near Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson 's daughter highlights the two cousins' close bond and 'means we may see a good deal of Harry, Meghan and their family', according to commentator Richard Fitzwilliams. Speaking to FEMAIL, Mr Fitzwilliams said 'it emphasises that they still have goodwill' in The Firm and 'makes clear that they are connected closely to part of the Royal Family and it will be interesting to see how they intend to develop this.'

The princess was also complimented on her parenting, with the friend adding: 'Bea has such a good heart and she's such a kind person, so motherhood came very naturally to her; she's a fantastic mum'.

Last month, Queen Maxima of the Netherlands appeared to be a little irritated during the Olympics . She was looking over as her 19-year-old daughter, Princess Alexia, was blowing bubblegum while watching the 100m breaststroke final - and was snapped the second after it popped. At Trooping the Colour last summer, Prince George, Louis and Princess Charlotte all sat in the same carriage. But at one point, a strong smell - perhaps of horse manure - appeared to get too much for Louis

Touching portrait of just how far Prince William and Camilla's relationship has come: Charming moment Wills and the Queen share carriage to Ascot in rare day out together without King Charles

www.dailymail.co.uk, June 19, 2024
The Prince of Wales, who once had a deeply strained relationship with his stepmother, looked at ease as he sat with her and the Earl and Countess of Halifax in front of adoring crowds. It was the first time that Camilla and William have teamed up since they led senior royals at the Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey in March. But whilst that was an official engagement, Ascot is not on the roster of duties and so William's appearance alongside Camilla will be seen by royal watchers as a sign of how well they now get on. Meanwhile, the Princess of Wales' parents were also in attendance in what was their first public appearance since their daughter's cancer diagnosis.

'You wouldn't pick her out of a crowd': The Queen's words about Sophie after they first met... but the Duchess of Edinburgh has proven to be the worthiest of wives for Prince Edward, writes NATASHA LIVINGSTONE

www.dailymail.co.uk, June 19, 2024
When Miss Rhys-Jones walked down the aisle at St George's Chapel on a warm day in the summer of 1999, she had already beaten many expectations. It is said that the Queen's first words on meeting Sophie - the daughter of a Kent tyre salesman - years earlier were: 'You wouldn't pick her out of a crowd.' In fact, the now-Duchess of Edinburgh has always been ahead of the crowd and has proven herself to be the worthiest of partners for the Queen's youngest son. Today, Prince Edward and Sophie celebrate their silver wedding anniversary in their typically subtle manner without formal fanfare. The palace have released a new photo of the couple, taken earlier this month, and it is thought they might attend Royal Ascot this afternoon. But their low-key style is perhaps the secret to their success - both as a couple and as working royals.

'We're happy with the way we are right now, thank you.' The pair, who were married at Westminster Abbey in 1986, have remained close since they divorced ten years later. They both live at 30-room Royal Lodge, in Windsor Great Park.

www.dailymail.co.uk, June 9, 2024
Recognised for her commitment to recycling, the Princess of Wales frequently opts for repurposed outfits or, at least, familiar styles. Rather than showcasing a new look for every engagement, Kate often purchases her favourite designs in different colours. She has her favourite dress - an Emilia Wickstead frock that was named after her - in four different colours. The royal's demure, streamlined fashion formula is evident; she rarely deviates from it.
