The Duke and Duchess of Sussex , who were evicted from their cottage in Windsor by King Charles last year, have ensured that they retain a foothold on this side of the Atlantic by buying a home in Europe, the Daily Mail's Richard Eden reported. They are not the only royals who have a Portuguese property, with the Prince's cousin Princess Eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank , owning a home in Melides, south of Lisbon. Their decision to purchase a home near Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson 's daughter highlights the two cousins' close bond and 'means we may see a good deal of Harry, Meghan and their family', according to commentator Richard Fitzwilliams. Speaking to FEMAIL, Mr Fitzwilliams said 'it emphasises that they still have goodwill' in The Firm and 'makes clear that they are connected closely to part of the Royal Family and it will be interesting to see how they intend to develop this.'

As revealed by the Mail's Richard Eden, the Sussexes have bought a home in the region of Alentejo, Portugal, not far from one owned by Harry's cousin Princess Eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank. The location is, unsurprisingly, suitably high-end, with an exquisite coastline and smart restaurants. Harry and Meghan were first spotted in the Alentejo area, south of the Portuguese capital Lisbon, in September last year, following the Invictus Games in Dusseldorf, Germany.

The Daily Mail understands that Prince Harry and Meghan have bought a home in Portugal. They are not the only royals who have a Portuguese property, with Harry's cousin Princess Eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank , owning a home in the CostaTerra Golf and Ocean Club, a luxury development of 300 properties by the sea in Melides, south of the Portuguese capital, Lisbon. Mr Brooksbank, 38, works in marketing and sales for CostaTerra. He, Eugenie, 34, and their two sons, August, three, and Ernest, 16 months, split their time between Portugal and London.

The Duchess of York (inset) has revealed her granddaughter Sienna had a unicorn-themed party to celebrate her third birthday.  Sarah Ferguson, 64, who lives in Royal Lodge in Windsor, explained how her eldest daughter Princess Beatrice (right) turned to a popular British supermarket for Sienna's cake. In an interview with Hello!, Fergie said that Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi also hosted Princess Eugenie, Jack Brooksbank and their two sons August and Ernest. The Duchess revealed that her daughter was especially happy with the present she bought Sienna (left).
