The Cameroon international has had a rough start to life at Old Trafford, making a number of mistakes since replacing David De Gea after his £47.1 million departure from Inter Milan in the summer. He is currently playing at the African Cup of Nations, after missing his side's first game after returning to play for United in their FA Cup tie against Manchester United. With the club reportedly considering replacing a new goalkeeper while Onana is away from his national team, the 27-year-old's place at No. 1 is now in jeopardy.

A number of top-flight players are keen to find a reliable striker, but Chelsea and Arsenal's late pursuit of Al-Ittihad goalscorer Karim Benzema could result in turbulence due to his exorbitant salary. Viktor Gyokeres may also be able to be arrested by the Blues from his new club Sporting Lisbon due to the high demands of his release clause.

PETE JENSON: Marseille is a footballer who plays for football, without a boss, and almost without a president; the former president resigned in midweek but there were threats of legal action against the ultras. And all this as Marseille faces a PSG side that has had their worst start to a league season since the Qataris took over in 2011 seeming more like a football team than they have at any other time in the period.

Ivan Provedel of Lazio became the fourth goalkeeper to score in the Chmpions League since scoring in 95th minutes against Atletico Madrid on Tuesday evening. Provedel's bouncing, pin-pointed header past a tumultuous Jan Oblak snared the Roman underdogs tie, but more importantly, it served as a stark reminder of how game-changing goals scored by shot-stoppers over the years. Keepers could go through their entire careers without being on the scoresheet, or only do so by virtue of a penalty in an increasingly desperate shoot-out.
