During the first quarter against the Toronto Maple Leafs, New York Islanders goalkeeper Ilya Sorokin made a spectacular diving stick stop, possibly the season's best save. Sorokin seemed to be defeated at the post for what might have been his second goal of the season, when he came back as far as he could stretch and extend his stick to knock the puck to the ice and far away from the goal. Sam Lafferty, a Maple Leafs center, had already defeated him, giving Toronto a 1-0 lead.
