Arsenal's stuck-on smiles betray the sense that second isn't good enough, writes IAN HERBERT

IAN HERBERT: An atmospheric black and white clip of Arsenal's players, entitled 'Keep Believing', was broadcast by Arsenal as denouement day dawned and seemed to capture the sense that the team was destined to wait longer for their glorious technicolour moment. There was nothing monochrome and melancholic about the mood on the streets, though. Only an air of celebration, as the Arsenal team bus was serenaded down Hornsey Road in the sunshine at ten to two and as the 'North London Forever' anthem was belted out before kick-off into a brilliant blue sky with an intensity which was remarkable, even by this season's standards.
Everton 1-0 Brentford: Idrissa Gueye goal seals Toffees' Premier League safety as Sean Dyche makes it three wins in a week with victory over Bees

For the first time in what must seem like a lifetime for Everton fans, there will be no sleepless nights in the final month of the season. The final few games can be enjoyed without the shadow of impending doom lingering menacingly over their shoulders. Nails are safe from being bitten, for another season at least. It always seemed unlikely that we would be treated to a repeat of the blood and thunder football that saw them dispatch their bitter foes from the other side of Stanley Park, Liverpool, in style during a memorable mid-week Merseyside derby win. They were still singing yesterday about how their neighbours had surrendered what grip they had on the title that night here. But after the physical, mental and emotional exertion of that win, voices seemed a little hoarser and wearier. Still, there were some home fans dancing in the stands ahead of kick-off. With good reason too, given that Luton's defeat at Wolves earlier in the day left Dyche's men with their fate in their own hands.

Jurgen Klopp's side are currently level with them on 74 points, but behind on goal difference, ended a difficult week by beating Fulham 3-1 at Craven Cottage. Several contentious refereeing decisions prompted Forest to publish an explosive tweet at full-time with the club sensationally claiming the 'VAR was a Luton fan'.

PSG seems determined to claim their ninth Ligue 1 title in a decade as tough as possible, judging by their start to 2023. They have lost five games or fewer on seven occasions in the last eight years. In the last two months alone, the Parisiens have now lost five games in all competitions, and the squad's team's relationships are starting to show, as shown by the hierarchy. PSG is out of the Coupe de France, which they've won a record 14 times, and they're just one foot out of the Champions League, which they're so eager to win after a humiliating 1-0 loss to Bayern Munich in the last 16. They now face Marseille, who knocked them out of the cup, out of the competition, and they could now drop their lead at the top to only two points.

The French newspaper announced that the arrivals of Vitinha, Fabian Ruiz, and Carlos Soler confused some players who believed that departures Leandro Paredes, Idrissa Gueye, or Julian Draxler were more suited to the team.
