Football itself is no longer relevant this week. Europe has a problem, from Newcastle fans being stabbed in Athens, to four police officers being shot outside Villa Park when they were attacked by Legia Warsaw supporters. On Thursday night, West Midlands Police made 46 arrests amid some of Birmingham's worst unrest in decades as ticketless Legia supporters protested outside the Doug Ellis Stand.
