Auburn running back Brian Battie could be facing a harrowing prognosis following a 'senseless' shooting that killed his brother, Tommie Battie, earlier this month.  According to court docs obtained by the Tampa Bay Times, the college football star may end up permanently paralyzed . A probable cause affidavit from the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office revealed Brian and Tommie were 'walking in the area' when a man named Darryl Brookins drew a gun and fired at them.

A man suspected of shooting Auburn running back Brian Battie and killing his brother, Tommie Battie IV, in Florida was arrested Wednesday.  22-year-old college football star Battie was shot in the early hours of Saturday morning in a Sarasota parking lot. His 24-year-old brother was reportedly pronounced dead at the scene. Darryl Brookins, 28, was arrested and charged with murder, attempted murder, and as a felon in possession of a firearm by Sarasota County Sheriff's Office. 

A football player at the University of Alabama has been charged with second-degree sodomy involving a juvenile female. Antonio Ross, a 19-year-old wide receiver and a Crimson Tide walk-on, has been suspended from the team. Tonio Ross is no longer a member of the curriculum and has been barred from campus,' the school announced Tuesday. Following his detention in Weaver, Alabama, Ross has since been released on $50,000 bond from Calhoun County jail.

Hugh Freeze is expected to return to the SEC after his previous involvements saw him resign in the scandal. According to Sports Illustrated's Ross Dellenger, the Liberty University coach has reportedly agreed to serve as Auburn's next head coach. Since joining Liberty in the school's second season of playing FBS football, the Freeze has a record of 34-15.
