Hizaki Life

Hizaki (also known as HIZAKI) was born in February 17, 1979, he is a Japanese visual kei metal musician, singer, and record producer.

He is best known as the guitarist for Versailles' symphonic power metal band.

He is also a member of Jupiter and has a solo career.

He had been in various independent bands before forming Versailles.

Early life

Hizaki grew up in the countryside of Shiga Prefecture. He loved classical music in kindergarten, particularly the violin, but his parents refused to teach him the violin or piano. When he was in sixth grade, his older brother began to play guitar, and Hizaki's first time playing with it, he "dove into music." He loathed other people's songs and wanted to create his own at this young age. Hizaki, a lifelong fan of Loudness and X Japan, wanted to play lead guitar but was not confident enough for their songs at the time, so he began making his own guitar exercises. Hizaki was an excellent student in middle school, but there was no one around him at his age. He entered high school during Japan's band boom, and so did others play in a band but had to work at a lower skill level in order to fit in. His friends preferred punk or grunge, despite being unwavered in his passion for metal and visual kei. Hizaki, as such, had no interest in the band and that his high school days were "quite gloomy."

Hizaki moved to Kyoto and discovered the music scene he had always wanted to experience after graduating. He formed a visual kei band with a former upperclassman and the upperclassman's acquaintances who were still wearing makeup from shows in high school. Ever since he started playing guitar, he felt that being able to perform was not enough; one must be well-looking or put on a good show; and, eventually, I would go out on stage to look like a teenager." Hizaki remarked in 2020 that his visual kei style of makeup and skirts has remained the same since high school. He also stated that he has a lot of childhood photographs in which he is wearing red clothes, possibly explaining why a majority of his stage costumes are red.
