Broom Manor is an elegant 19th-century mansion - or, at least, it was once aspired - near the upmarket town of Knutsford in the heart of Cheshire countryside. It boasts seven bedrooms, stables, adjoining cottages, and a central courtyard. 'The high-end living space includes sumptuous bathroom and kitchen fittings, a sophisticated look with period details mixed with sleek modern technology,' is how an estate agent marketed the property shortly before it was auctioned for £1,385,250 in July 2014, much less than what it was worth.' Because the rail link to Manchester was now cancelled north leg of the rail link, owner James Hilton had no choice but to accept the bid from HS2 Ltd, the government-funded company that was responsible for providing the train link to Manchester, because it would have scythed through his garden. His property, as well as scores of others in Cheshire, became worthless on the open market the moment it was revealed (in 2013).

Rolls-Royce's most aerodynamic motor vehicle ever, the two-door four-seater fastback, has a presence and size similar to the previous petrol-powered Wraith coupe's. Although exact prices have yet to be revealed, the corporation claims that Spectre will be priced between the Cullinan 4x4 and flagship Phantom models. However, customers will seldom buy any new Rolls-Royce without adding significant personal touches and extras, so they will typically be paying more than £400,000.
