ALEXANDRA SHULMAN'S NOTEBOOK: Wearing a bikini is the perfect post-op pick me up

ALEXANDRA SHULMAN'S NOTEBOOK: I am writing from the Greek island of Syros on my last week of a long holiday. After a recent operation for colon cancer, my stomach looks like a game of noughts and crosses, marked with a large number of deep purple scars left by my excellent surgeon. So I had thought that this year, though no one loves a bikini more than me, I would have to give way to a one-piece and avoid inflicting my lattice tummy on the rest of the world. But within days of being by the pool in the sun, on went the bikini. I can't say that even my greatest fans could regard my belly as a pretty sight - not only are there the scars but two months of 'taking it easy', while giving up smoking, have not done my tummy any favours. Yet, to be honest, if how I looked was ever the guiding consideration in my choice of swimwear, I would probably be shrouded in a Nigella-style burkini.
Since being charged in a charity store for a few pounds 20 years ago, Henry Moore's watercolour was auctioned at £25,000 after being mistaken for a print

The drawing features four studies of a mother and her child, a common theme in Moore's work, who was one of the twentieth century's most influential British sculptors. Moore's drawing at a charity store was thought to be a print, but when it was taken out of its frame during a regular appraisal at Forum Auctions, Moore's signature was discovered and another drawing was discovered on the reverse. It was sent to the Henry Moore Foundation and confirmed as having been created by Moore. The drawing was sold at Forum Auctions to a private UK-based collector on Thursday and will be included in Moore's forthcoming collection of Moore's portfolio.
