Cruise's on-screen chemistry with his "Risky Business" costar was not limited to the cameras. Despite De Mornay's involvement with actor Harry Dean Stanton, she and Cruise started an intense affair early in the 1983 film's making. Curtis Armstrong, the pair's "Risky Company" costar, revealed in his book "Revenge of the Nerd" that the dynamic on stage was tumultuous at times.
"I suspect that most of Harry Dean's excellent qualities were lost on him, and that, I suspect, he was beginning to see him as a guest overstaying his welcome." Armstrong said, "it must have been a little insulting to have your heart set on f*cking your costar, and just as you're starting to make headway, her significant other comes out of a trap like a lanky, amiable Banquo's ghost."

Rebecca De Mornay appeared to be channeling Risky Business costar Tom Cruise's timeless appearance, from their 1983 cult classic, on a Los Angeles coffee run. On Thursday morning, the 63-year-old actress wore two black shades, similar to Cruise's Ray-Ban Wayfarer sunglasses, when portraying Joel Goodsen, a high-achieving high school student. Lana, the bombshell, who is best known for posing a streetwise prostitute, cut a casual figure as she went about her errands, including picking up a prescription from Good Neighbor Pharmacy and Starbucks. In loose waves around her shoulders, the mother-of-two wore a black jacket, matching pants, flat shoes, and her signature blonde tresses for her laid-back outing. According to former costar Curtis Armstrong's book Revenge of the Nerd, De Mornay and Cruise reportedly had a sexual relationship while filming their box office hit. Armstrong, 69, wrote an all book that "it's no secret" that Tom was involved in a volatile affair during the shooting [with De Mornay]] behind her then-boyfriend Harry Dean Stanton's back.
