One of the NFL's largest fan bases can breathe a collective sigh of relief on Sunday as one of the most high-profile holdouts in the league has finally come to an end.

The New York Jets have granted a star permission to seek a trade, according to multiple reports.  Amid his battle to get paid, the linebacker turned to one of the league's most notorious agents, Drew Rosenhaus earlier this week.  And Rosenhaus appears to have already knuckled down as the franchise has allowed the player and his representatives a 'short window' to seek a trade before the star has even played a single game for the Jets.

In his battle to get paid, Reddick has now turned to a new agent, who also represents fellow NFL star Tyreek Hill - and previously Johnny Manziel, Antonio Brown and Rob Gronkowski. Incredibly, Reddick is said to be forfeiting around $800,000 for every game he misses, given he was due to make $14.25million this season. In total, he has already missed out on over $9m, made up of various fines for skipping practice and training camps, as well as his game checks.

After backup and NFL journeyman Josh Johnson sustained a concussion, Purdy was forced to return in the second half. Purdy threw only two passes and put off the remainder of the game as he continued to deal with elbow pain despite his return. The 49ers also trailed the Eagles 221-7 by that time and couldn't get much going in Sunday's 31-7 loss.
