One young fan in Paris got a bit too close for LeBron James ' comfort as the Team USA star celebrated his third Olympic gold along the Seine. Wearing his USA Basketball t-shirt and gym shorts, James almost looked like he could be arriving at practice were it not for the bottle of wine in one hand and the gold medal around his neck. But for all of the levity surrounding his arrival at a Parisian restaurant in a chauffeured Mercedes, James was quickly angered when a young fan stepped in his way, ostensibly asking for a photograph. 'Stop, stop, stop,' James told the boy while holding up his hand. 'Don't do that.'

The 40-year-old, 2005 NCAA champion was asked his thoughts on the two rivals after Reese and Clark played on the same team together for the first time of their careers at the WNBA All-Star game. Basketball fans were torn over the former NBA point guard's proposal on social media, as his opinion is modeled off the NBA previously having split its Rookie of the Year Award on three separate occasions (1994-95; 1970-71; 1999-2000).

USA's basketball team overcame a major scare in one of its final Olympic warmups on Saturday after fighting back from a 14-point halftime deficit against South Sudan. Eight days before their opener at the Paris Games, the likes of LeBron James and Steph Curry were forced to dig deep in a dramatic 101-100 win over the world's 33rd-ranked side in London. South Sudan even took the lead in the final 20 seconds against a team packed with NBA superstars, only for LeBron to pull out a game-winning layup right at the death and spare USA's blushes.

Team USA men's basketball is holding its pre-Olympics camp in Las Vegas, which has temperatures easily soaring into triple digits. Although the practices take place inside on UNLV's campus, plenty of fans are waiting outside in the heat wave trying to get a glimpse or an autograph from one of the dozen Americans headed to Paris. NBA stars such as Kevin Durant, Anthony Edwards, and Devin Booker did not stop to mingle with the fans. Team USA general manager Grant Hill did not either. 

After being left out of Team USA's 2024 Olympic plans, Draymond Green has admitted he is 'hurt', with the troubled Warriors star doubting the legitimate explanation for his snub's departure. Last week, USA Basketball revealed a 41-player selection pool for this summer's Games in Paris, including LeBron James, James Harden, Steph Curry, and Kevin Durant. Green was not selected for the list, and team managing director Grant Hill said that "playing over the summer gives him the best opportunity to do what he needs to do."

After offering the opportunity to select one team to accommodate through the group stages, FIBA made the announcement on Monday. Team USA was selected by the Philippines and would also host the tournament's final stages from the quarterfinals to the grand finals. USA Basketball will be able to remain in the Manila area throughout the tournament, which is good news coming off a disappointing seventh-place finish in China last year, when several squads investigated travel concerns.
