Then Son deciphered Giovani Lo Celso's delectable pass and smashed it high into Neto. When Richarlison made it 3-0, the goal gave his team a degree of security, but it is not a Spurs game under Ange Postecoglou without a breathless closing sequence.

In the dying embers of Brighton's 4-2 victory over Tottenham, Giovani Lo Celso and Joao Pedro were involved in a tense exchange. Roberto De Zerbi's side won by a massive victory over Spurs, snaping their three-match winning streak, with Pedro scoring twice from the penalty spot, while Jack Hinshelwood and Perso Estupinan also found the back of the net. Ange Postecoglou's side reacted a little late with Son Heung-min's setting up Alejo Veliz in the 81st minute, before Ben Davies arrived just four minutes later.

Seagulls supporters may have wished the year didn't come as they coasted into a four-goal lead against Tottenham Hotspur. Nonetheless, by the time the visitors reduced the deficit to spread anxiety through nine minutes of stoppage time, everyone must have been drained and ready for a lie-down. Two penalties were correctly converted as ever by Joao Pedro, a popular goal by fit-against Pervis Estupinan, and then a late wobble.

Since recovering from groin surgery earlier this month, Richarlison has impressed for Tottenham Hotspur. He has scored four goals in his last three appearances in the Premier League, including netting twice against Newcastle and finding the back of the goal against Everton, his old club.
