Gert Verhulst Career

Life and career

Verhulst knew he wanted to be famous at an early age (own words). He applied at the "Koninkijk Conservatorium Antwerpen" in 1987 (translated: The Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp), where he was refused, and he would recall this as a gift from Heaven. He started working at BRTN (now VRT) as a continuity announcer later this year.

Samson & Gert is Eline van Noppen's first television series focusing on the talking dog Samson and his owner Gert. The show first aired on television1 from 1989 to 2001, when it migrated to Ketnet and continues to air all of its episodes to this day. Verhulst, a continuity announcer, wanted to make the announcements before children's television shows more appealing by placing an animal puppet next to him. He got in touch with puppeteer Danny Verbiest, who created the puppet dog Samson. Samson, an Old English Sheepdog, made his screen debut on September 2, 1989. The pair's fame in Flanders soared quickly, and they were given their own television series in 1990. Samson, the show's creator, premiered on September 2, 1990. Samson and Gert and their families will be shown on the show, as they will be confronted with many amusing and confusing situations. The plot will be interrupted by competitions, fan mail, and a variety of cartoons, such as The Smurfs, Ovide, and the Gang, and Mrs. Pepper Pot.

"Zeg eens Euh" was the word game played by Verhulst.

(translated: Say Uh!)

It was a game that was on display on Friday between 1992 and 1997 and whose design was clearly inspired by the British radio game Just a Minute. The panelists were then randomly assigned a theme that they had to address for one minute. They were given a banned word that they could not use together with the theme. Four Flemish stars, including "Emiel Goelen," "Margriet Hermans," "Koen Crucke" and "Jaak Pijpen," were among the panelists on the panel. "Mark Tijsmans," "Andrea Croonenberghs," "Walter Baele" & "Paul Ambach," occasionally replaced one of these panelists. The viewership increased from 700,000 to 800,000 viewers in the summer months. "Donaat Deriemaecker" took over the game when Verhulst first returned to Vtm, but after a controversy surrounding one of the panel members, Emiel Goelen, the show was suspended.Verhulst migrated to Vtm in 1997, where he sang, "Wat zegt u?"

(translated: What do you say ?

(Real, July ). "Linx" was the first, followed by "Serrenslag") in the summer of 1998, Verhulst performed "Sterrenslag" (translated: Star fight) for several weeks because the host, 'Herbert Bruynseels,' had to leave due to sickness. The word game "Watte?" originated in the summer of 1999.

(translated What?)

"Walter De Donder," "Koen Crucke," and "Simonne Peeters" were among the panel members' "Welter De Donder."

In 1996, Verhulst founded "Studio 100" alongside "Danny Verbiest" and "Hans Bourlon." They came together in 1989, when the program "Samson en Gert" (transslated "Samson and Gert) was first introduced. Samson en Gert, the original program, was launched in 1996. They quickly decided to develop a new platform in order to be able to advertise themselves more. They selected Kabouter Plop (translated Gnome Plop). Since 1997, it has been shown on VTM. Studio 100's growth in 1999 saw four new projects, including a musical, a film, and two new television shows, all in Flanders: a musical, a film, and two new television shows. Vtm was asked to provide financial assistance for both the musical and film. Studio 100 and the VMMa, a new media company established in 1987 as Vlaamse Televisie Maatschappij with nine publishers each having an 11.1% stake, announced that Meli Park would be incorporated in October 1999. Studio 100's headquarters in Belgium ("Plopsaland"), Mayaland Indoor "Plopsa Indoor" Hasselt, "Plopsa Coo" and "Plopsaqua"), one in Belgium ("Plopsa Indoor"), one in the Netherlands ("Plopsa Indoor"), one in (Germany) -- one in (Holiday Park) Studio 100 is located in Schelle and Londerzeel) & one in (Germany Studio 100 has access to Belgium's biggest recording studios. Often, major events, such as the Eurovision Song Contest's preselections, are held there. Studio 100's Dutch team is based in Hilversum's Mediapark. In Paris, Sydney, and Munich, two television stations, as well as an animation studio in Paris, Sydney, and Munich, Australia. Studio 100 acquired Flying Bark Productions in order to produce Master Raindrop and is now doing well with more than 160 broadcasters on average. He married "Valerie Calliau" in 1998, with whom he had a son (Victor Verhulst, 1993) and a daughter (Marie Verhulst, 1995), before splitting up in 2003. Marie Verhulst, his son's, is also an actor. Verhulst was rumored to be having a mate with Karen Damen from the famous girl group, K3. Verhulst never denied the relationship, but a Dutch newspaper published photographs of the couple in February 2005. After a four-year marriage, the two couples split in April. Verhulst was involved with Ellen Callebout, a Blankenberge restauranteur, from 2008 to 2011. Verhulst had a brief friendship with Josje Huisman, a K3 singer, but then they broke up after a few months. Since then, he has reconnected with Callebout, and the couple married in 2019.
