The British Film Institute has taken a Black Lives Matter (right) activist to court for allegedly lacking £216,000 of funding. (left) she says she owes money to the jailer. The BFI has filed a winding-up lawsuit against Alisha Hall, 41, and her Hall Media Group Limited for the significant sum it said was due. It was intended for the London Film Festival in October 2021, which was attended by Hollywood celebrities, and was owed to Hall's The Liberation Initiatives. There is no evidence that Hall has received any wrongdoing or money due. She is also said to have agreed to sponsor an event at the NoMad Hotel (top inset) Covent Garden.
