Geli Raubal Life

Adolf Hitler's half-niece, Angela Maria "Geli" Raubal (4 June 1908 – 18 September 1931) was Adolf Hitler's half-niece.

Born in Linz, Austria-Hungary, she was Leo Raubal Sr.'s second child and eldest daughter, as well as Hitler's half-sister Angela Raubal.

Raubal lived in close association with her uncle from 1925 to her presumed suicide in 1931.

Life

Angela Maria "Geli" Raubal was born in Linz, Austria-Hungary, where she was raised with her brother Leo and sister Elfriede. Geli's father died at the age of 31 when she was two. Elfriede and her mother joined her in 1925 when she became Hitler's housekeeper; Raubal was 17 at the time and spent the next six years in close liaison with her half-uncle, who was 19 years old. In 1928, her mother was given a job as housekeeper at the Berghof near Berchtesgaden. When Raubal first started studying medicine at Ludwig Maximilian University in 1929, she did not finish her studies.

He was domineering and cynical of Raubal as she rose to power as the Nazi Party's leader, although she kept a tight rein on her. When he discovered she was having a relationship with his chauffeur Emil Maurice in December 1927, he ordered her to end the affair and fired Maurice from his service. After that, he did not want her to associate with her family and then tried to have him or someone he trusted near her at all times, from driving her to the theater and the opera.
