A bipartisan group of senators are pushing a new stock trading ban for members of Congress on an expedited schedule. The announcement comes as lucrative stock trades by lawmakers have been under  more scrutiny as over $1 billion in trades have been made in 2024 alone. Though there are some laws in place to restrict members from trading on their inside knowledge in Congress, critics say that doesn't always happen.

That's a surprising figure considering how federal departments invest over $2 billion a year to operate and maintain federal office buildings - as well as over $5 billion annually in leases. Since 'temporary' telework policies went into place over four years ago,' the remote lifestyle has come at the expense of the people federal departments are supposed to serve.'

A gunman opened fire at Michigan State University on Monday night, killing one individual and injuring multiple others. According to investigators, the perpetrator, who was described as a short male wearing a mask that is black, is seen running around campus on foot with a 'large gun,' and is still on the loose. According to reports, the gunman opened fire in at least two places. It's unknown where the one fatality occurred. The shooting took place on the eve of the five-year anniversary of a high school in Parkland, Florida, that killed 17 students. According to one survey, a person was running across campus with a long gun and a hooded jacket on. According to MSU, there was a suspect on foot, and the perpetrators suspect the gunman is operating alone.
