Gad Elmaleh (born 19 April 1971) is a Moroccan-Canadian stand-up comedian and actor who has achieved notoriety in France and Canada.
He has appeared in many French-speaking films, most recently in the United States, including Coco, Priceless, La Doublure, and Midnight in Paris.

Early years
Elmaleh was born and raised in Casablanca to a Moroccan Berber Jewish family. Elmaleh was brought up in a culturally diverse environment, speaking both Moroccan Arabic and French. With a placard, he would greet his father, a mime, as an infant. Arié's brother, as well as his sister, Judith, is an actor and singer, and stage producer.
He attended École Macromedia and Lycée Lyautey in Casablanca. When Elmaleh was 17 years old, his family immigrated from Morocco to Canada. Career
Décalages, Elmaleh's first one-man show Décalages, was unveiled on "Palais des glaces" in 1997. In the show, he retraces his journey from Morocco after high school, continuing with his studies in Montreal, and finishing in France, where he studied drama at Cours Florent. With the success of his second one-man show, La Vie Normale, his first appearance at the Olympia and his first show of more than two hours, his fame has grown. On January 23, 2001, the program was released on DVD.
His L'autre c'est moi (2005), compared to his first two one-man shows, contains more experimentation and public interaction. He has been credited with bringing the American stand-up style to France and using it in his one-man shows. In September 2006 (Montreal) and in the United States, he appeared with L'autre, c'est moi; in Broadway, before 3000 people; also in Casablanca, Morocco; He appeared in France, Belgium, and Switzerland from April to August 2007.
