Fiona Richmond Life

Fiona Richmond (born in Hilborough, Norfolk) is a former English glamour model and actress.

She rose to prominence in a number of risqué plays, comedy revues, journals, and films in the 1970s.

Early life

Julia Rosamund Harrison, the daughter of Reverend John Harrison, was born in Hilborough, Norfolk. She registered for university but decided against attending drama schools in the hopes of becoming an actor. She began working as an air stewardess, then as a nanny for actress Diane Cilento, and then as a Playboy Club croupier.

Personal life

Paul Raymond was still separated from his wife Jean by the time he met Fiona Richmond. Richmond became his girlfriend, and the two became a celebrity couple in London from 1970 to 1977, living in a flat in Portman Square. Raymond admitted adultery in Richmond, and his wife divorced him in 1974 after 23 years of marriage, receiving a £250,000 divorce. She became familiar with driving the Richmond yellow Jaguar E-Type sports car with the personalised number plate FU2, and she became familiar with it around the West End. Despite his fortune, she continued to work as she cherished her liberty. Richmond did an interview with Terry Jones after his death on March 2nd, 2008.

She left Raymond after being exhausted by the show business lifestyle, but they remained close friends. In 1978, she declared her intention to marry James Montgomery, the presenter of Southern Television's regional news program Day by Day. When Richmond appeared on a television show she had produced to promote a book she had written, she had met Montgomery. The pair were married in 1983 and had one daughter, Tara, who was born in 1984. Richmond ceased to show business in the year 2000 and went on to run a fashion store and work as a journalist. Julia Montgomery, Robert Montgomery, was divorced in 1998 but Julia Montgomery retained her married name.

Richmond married former pig farmer Peter Pilbrow later in life. They owned and operated two establishments on Grenada's Caribbean island of Petit Bacaye and "The Onion Store," an English bed and breakfast establishment in Hampshire, by 2001. She continued to work in both countries and raise funds for the charity Gift Grenada.

Fiona Richmond Career

Acting career

When she tried to appear in the nude farce Pyjama Tops at the Whitehall Theatre in London in 1970, Richmond met British strip-club owner and publisher Paul Raymond. She was accepted for the role and went on to act in nude photo shoots and work as an adult entertainment journalist, as well as writing articles about sex for the UK's top shelf magazines. In 1970, she appeared in a TV documentary named The Actress Said. In an article in Raymond's Men Only magazine in which she referred to her alleged sexual encounters with both men and women around the world, she gained some attention. She appeared on the London Broadcasting Company, a British talk radio, and a phone-in station in 1974. She made the TV documentary What the Actress Did to the Bishop in the same year, which received a gold medal at the Atlanta International Film Festival. A snapshot of Richmond in the Crystal Palace F.C. was published in the News of the World in 1976. As a result of Allison's arrest with the Football Association, the players' bathed with footballer Malcolm Allison.

She made her film debut in Not Tonight, Darling (1971), which led to bigger roles in X-rated films such as the psychological thriller Exposé (1976). Some of them included Hardcore (1977) – also known as Frankly Fiona – a sex comedy in which she appeared herself, as well as an autobiography she had written – and Let's Get Laid (1977), a mistaken-identity parody comedy with no connection to the stage show of the same name. She appeared in Raymond's Electric Blue video collection, as well as the first of them in 1979. The Queen of France appeared in Part I (1981), an episode of Mel Brooks' History of the World, Part I (1981), and the role of Fiona the KGB agent in the all-star black comedy Eat The Rich (1987). In 1973, she released Frankly Fiona, a spoken word record produced in collaboration with Anthony Newley, as well as a rousing commentary to Newley's songs.

Richmond appeared in several of Paul Raymond's stage shows. She appeared in Pyjama Tops, the West End's first nude production, from 1970 to 1974, which appeared at the Whitehall Theatre from 1970 to 1974. The play, which revolved around a transparent-sided swimming pool into which nude actresses occasionally plunged, was an English version of the French farce Moumou. Richmond also appeared in the play's 1972 tour. In 1974, she appeared in Let's Get Laid, a sex sketch comedy performed by Victor Spinetti. The performance was the first to be performed in the newly revived theatre, and she rode a horse through Piccadilly Circus in the style of Lady Godiva. She appeared opposite Divine in the Women Behind Bars at the Whitehall Theatre in 1977. She appeared on Yes, We Have No Pyjamas, another of Raymond's nude performances, in 1979. She appeared in Wot's 1981 Paul Raymond film.

No Pyjamas!

The Whitehall Theatre and its subsequent tours were on display at the Whitehall Theatre. Richmond was featured on posters outside the Whitehall Theatre, and the Greater London Council took court action against them. She appeared in the Nude stage farce Space in My Pyjamas, which toured the provinces for more than 15 weeks in 1982. In a television interview promoting the tour, she revealed that she intends to give up nude in favour of more serious acting.

Richmond has published numerous fictional and autobiographical books based on her sexual experiences, including Fiona (1976), Story of I (1980), Galactic Girl (1980), Keeping Paris (1980), In Depth (1982) and Tell Tale Tits (1987). Her last showbusiness appearances in the 1990s included guest appearances on James Randi: The Truth About Women (1991), The Unknown Woman (1992), and as an uncredited extra in The Man Who Made Husbands Jealous (1997).

Tamsin Egerton appeared in The Look of Love, Michael Winterbottom's 2013 biopic about Paul Raymond starring Michael Winterbottom. Richmond said on its debut that the film portrayed a sleazy side of her life that never happened, and that the bulk of her script changes to make the film more accurate had not been taken up.
