Edward Moore Life

Edward Moore (1712 – 1 March 1757), an English dramatist and miscellaneous writer, was born in Abingdon, Berkshire, and he wrote Fables for the Female Sex (1748) and Gil Blas (1751).

He wrote the domestic tragedy of The Gamester, which was released in 1753 with David Garrick as the main character of Beverley the gambler.

Moore's literary reputation rests on The Gamester; the play was well-produced in England and the United States in the century after Moore's death;

In the play's second act, Mrs. Beverley used the word "rich beyond the hopes of avarice" to describe John Gay and Thomas Gray, as well as George, 1st Lord Lyttelton, Lord Chesterfield, and Horace Walpole.

In 1756, Moore collected his Poems, Fables, and Plays.

His Dramatic Works were published in 1788.

Residents on a nearby island rage over proposals to dumping 100 homeless people

www.dailymail.co.uk, August 8, 2022
After plans were laid out for a string of 'tiny homes' on Biscayne Bay island, Fisher Island locals demanded that authorities find another home to lump them in. Scientists, water sports enthusiasts, and homeless activists raged at the plans late last week, sparking outrage. It comes after the board of county commissioners in Miami-Dade asked city officials to present plans on how to reduce the city's homeless population. Art Noriega, the City Manager of Virginia Key Island, suggested encampment on the northern tip of the island's northern tip, next to a sewage works and a biking path as a solution. The solution to Miami's 1,500-strong homeless crisis echoed a similar plan launched by Donald Trump earlier this year to address the issue around the country. However, Miamians sluggishly dismissed any suggestion for the area due to fears over tourism, safety, and the wellbeing of the camp's future residents, who have now been put on hold.
