But for all of the levity surrounding his arrival at a Parisian restaurant in a chauffeured Mercedes, James was quickly angered when a young fan stepped in his way, ostensibly asking for a photograph. 'Stop, stop, stop,' James told the boy while holding up his hand. 'Don't do that.'

LeBron James officially hailed the 2024 Team USA men's basketball with the perfect nickname after striking gold in Paris. On Saturday, the Americans completed their mission against host nation France, winning 98-87 in the gold medal game. Postgame, James was asked: 'There's the dream team, [the] redeem team, what's this team?'

LeBron James and several other Team USA basketball stars were caught leaving an exclusive Paris in the early hours of Monday morning despite facing an imminent training session ahead of Wednesday's game against upstart South Sudan. James, Durant, Anthony Davis and Bam Adebayo were seen leaving through a back entrance of Siena, an Italian restaurant near the Tuileries Garden along the north bank of the Seine. In a room full of NBA superstars, it was a kid coming out of high school that stole all the attention at a practice for the US Olympic basketball team on Monday. 17-year-old Cooper Flagg showed off his skills against some of the best defenders in the NBA - including Anthony Davis, Jrue Holiday, and Bam Adebayo to name a few - in a stunning display that stole headlines. The inbound Duke freshman was part of the select team invited to work out against the Olympic squad during their training camp and Flagg already looked like he belonged.

On Monday, The Athletic reported that Team USA is finalizing 11 of its 12-man roster for the games. According to the Athletic's sources, the players cemented in place combine for 11 NBA titles with four former MVPs. Multiple media outlets announced that Miami Heat center Cody Zeller has been promoted from questionable to probable for Game 2 of the NBA Finals against the host Denver Nuggets on Sunday. Since logging just eight minutes in Miami's 104-93 loss on Thursday, Zeller, who is also the back-up to Bam Adebayo, is dealing with a swollen right foot. In the setback, he missed his lone shot from the floor and had three rebounds. Zeller, 30, averaged 6.5 points and 4.3 rebounds in 15 games (two starts) with the Heat this season.

If qualifying for the tournament, USA Basketball's men's team will enjoy a reduced travel schedule at next year's FIBA World Cup, where the Americans will play all of their games in and around Manila, the Philippines' capital.
