Dylan Bruce (born April 21, 1980) is a Canadian actor known for his roles as Chris Hughes on the CBS daytime soap opera As the World Turns and Paul Dierden on BBC America and Space's Orphan Black.

Early life

Bruce was born on April 21, 1980, in Vancouver, British Columbia, and raised in Boundary Bay. Bruce attended University of Washington in Seattle, Washington, and graduated with a degree in Drama and Economics before moving to Los Angeles, California. He launched his career by modeling in Seattle through Seattle Models Guild. He appeared on the cover of the November 10, 2004, issue of Daily Variety.

Career

Bruce began his career with the Counter Terrorist Unit (CTU) Agent Martin Kail on 24: Conspiracy, a mobile-only spin-off of the television series 24. He appeared on two episodes of the NBC daytime soap opera Passions and spent as a waiter on the television sitcom Joey earlier this year. He appeared on The Sopranos and on the reality television show Breaking Up with Shannen Doherty in 2006. On Las Vegas in 2007, he appeared as Sam Marquez (Vanessa Marcil)'s secretary.

Bruce played Chris Hughes on CBS daytime's As the World Turns in 2007. Bruce debuted as the eighth actor to play the role, replacing Bailey Chase, who appeared on January 29, 2003 to January 20, 2005. Bruce made his debut on October 25, 2007. Bruce was downgraded to recurring status in August 2008. On October 15, 2008, he made his final appearance on October 15, 2008.

Bruce made his big screen debut in Unstoppable, the Denzel Washington thriller. Bruce appeared in Love's Christmas Journey, a Hallmark Channel original film from 2011. Mark Hanson appeared in Lifetime's thriller film Willed to Kill in the ensuing year.

Bruce co-starred as Paul Dierden on the sci-fi television series Orphan Black, co-produced by Space and BBC America as of 2013. Adam Donner appeared on The CW's Arrow as Adam Donner.

In the current revival of V.C., Bruce appeared as Bart Winslow in 2014. Petals on the Wind, Andrews' Flowers in Attic, and its sequel, Petals on the Wind. Bruce appeared in the Hallmark Channel's television film A Novel Romance in January 2015.

Bruce said, "I count my lucky stars every day to have been blessed with this opportunity" after leaving Orphanage Black in May 2015. Paul was certainly a fun character to play; I loved researching military guys and learning how they work and how they think. It was just a life-changing experience that I'll never forget."

Bruce appeared in Heroes Reborn as Captain James Dearing in a recurring role in October 2015. Bruce appeared in the action comedy film First Round Down in 2016. He appeared in the NBC series Midnight, Texas, where he played Bobo Winthrop. Bruce had been cast in the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries film The Christmas Promise, starring Tory DeVitto and Patrick Duffy, on August 31, 2021. In early September, Vancouver's production began in early September. Bruce stars Joe, a charming carpenter renovating Nicole's (DeVitto) house.
