Furious Leeds United fans slam club's new home shirt and insist they 'WON'T be buying' it... as supporters claim colour of huge Red Bull logo 'dilutes who we are and our values'

Leeds United appeared to score an own goal on Friday after angering a large section of the club's fanbase with the launch of their new home kit for the 2024-25 season. The new adidas shirt was largely white, as has been the case with all of the club's home jerseys since 1961 - when former manager Don Revie, who was inspired by the European success of Real Madrid, ordered a change from blue. However, it also prominently featured the logo of sponsors Red Bull, which - as the name might suggest - is red.
That's a kung-fu kick to his head and a red card - whether it's 2024 or 1970! Leeds has been stripped of the Cup. MARK CLATTENBURG on the result that should never have been

It's the most watched club game in English television history, not because of its 28 million viewers at home, but for the brutality of the thundering tackles and violence. Chelsea and Leeds will meet in the FA Cup on Wednesday, a match from 54 years ago - and the subsequent raging discussions - will never be far away, even though the snowflake rules of the modern day have changed the game forever. Chelsea won 2-1 after extra time in the third most watched sporting match in UK television history, only beating the 1966 World Cup final and Euro 2020 final.
Farewell Stan the Man! Bowles, the greatest maverick No. 2 in QPR, was the ultimate maverick No. 1. It's sad that ten out of his high-end old life was stifled by Alzheimer's curse

JEFF POWELL: In the days of yore, young football reporters would gather for a beer before Saturday's matches at QPR's Loftus Road ground. After popping into the corner store to buy a packet of fags, Stan The Man would briskly into the King's Tavern in South Africa Road about half an hour before the game's 3 p.m. He'll try luck down his pint, and then stop at the nearby betting store to place his bets for the day's races. He'll make it to the home dressing room too late for the manager's team's discussion, but he's got to take off his boots and run last out of the tunnel just in time. The crowd erupted in applause as the crowd erupted in raucous of applause.
Brian Talbot's signature white Admiral England kit I wore on my debut against Northern Ireland in 1977. I even managed to get off the bench and help the winner!

It was really a boyhood dream to play for England. I went from Suffolk to Wembley to watch the World Cup final at 13. We could only get one ticket so my mum let me go in on my own while she watched the game through the window of a TV rental shop! Given the history, you can imagine the excitement when Don Revie called up in 1977 and went on as a replacement against Northern Ireland in Belfast. I even managed to find out the winner for Dennis Tueart. It was Admiral's first white England shirt. There was no chance of me exchanging it with anyone.
How a slice of Silicon Valley is returning to Leeds United's future... Mail Sport takes you on a journey through the San Francisco 49ers to marvel at the latest hi-tech gadgets that might be able to change the Yorkshire club

'Exec Huddle' is the sign on a room at Levi's Stadium, the NFL's San Francisco 49ers' futuristic, Silicon Valley home. It's a grand name, but a look inside reveals a company box that has been turned into a data center. There's a good view of the home team, a Super Bowl favorite, storming the Seattle Seahawks in front of an adoring 68,500. But here, the focus is on touch points rather than touchdowns. As the 49ers close in on their second victory, a group of graduates monitors a sequence of numbers on a large bank of screens. Each captures a particular part of the gameday operation.
Loud hosannas for master craftsman and titan of sport who walks, talks, dines, and drinks with the giants. In the New Year's Honours, Jeff Powell, a columnist, has been given an MBE

Jeff Powell of the Daily Mail - six words that have characterized our friend and colleague's life as the most influential sports writer of his time. Today at the paper, he has been with the newspaper for longer than any reporter ever, back pages or front; we're lucky that our own master craftsman, king of the major exclusives, has been named in the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE). But the royal distinction - all the more surprising for Jeff, who was forced to fight his way out of East London's post-war poverty - will not be restricted to this office, but it will ring like a peel of bells in hundreds of homes where the Daily Mail is carried - will be heard.
In recognition of his illustrious career, Mail Sport's Jeff Powell has been named an MBE for services to journalism

Freiburg 1-2 West Ham: David Moyes claims his 17TH successive European win thanks to fine headers from Lucas Paqueta and Nayef Aguerd against scrappy Bundesliga outfit

GILL AT EUROPA-PARK STADION: Freiburg's nickname Breisgau-Brasilianer - the Brazilians of Breisgau - is a nod to their historically vibrant style of play. On this Europa League victory for West Ham in Germany, it was Lucas Paqueta who sprinkled his Samba sorcery. David Moyes' men made it 17 European games unbeaten, a new record for an English team after being tied on 16 with Don Revie's Leeds from 1968 and Bill Nicholson's Tottenham from 1972. After a good passing move, Paqueta put in a magnificent display, scoring the most majestic of headers from a Jarrod Bowen cross. As Nayef Aguerd returned home, the visitors declared the victory with James Ward-Prowse securing yet another assist from a corner.
West Ham tipped at 7/5 to grab an impressive away win in the Europa League against Freiburg - and make history for an English side in Europe in the process

West Ham have been marginally favored to win their Europa League match against Freiburg, making the first European champions their Europa League match in history. The Europa Conference League winners this season are now ties with Pep Guardiola's upcoming Man City team, Don Revie's Leeds in the 1960s, and Bill Nicholson's 1970s Tottenham team for the longest unbeaten run by an English side on the continent. The Hammers' run to 17 games would be extended if they were not defeated, according to Sky Bet, and they have priced them at 75% to win in Germany.
If the Hammers win for their 17th European match in Freiburg, David Moyes is on the verge of making more history with West Ham

KIERAN GILL: If West Ham win their 17th European game on Thursday night, they will go back to the ground for the longest run of any English side ever. West Ham's Münster from 1968 and Bill Nicholson's Tottenham from 1972 are currently tied on 16 with Don Revie's Leeds from 1968 and Bill Nicholson's Tottenham from 1972, as they face Freiburg in Germany in the Europa League tonight. I didn't know it,' Moyes, who won the Europa Conference League in June, said, 'I didn't know that.' 'Not bad names them, are they? Two extraordinary managers have been with English football for a long time. If we could do that, it would be a major achievement. Let's hope we can keep it going. These nights bring the excitement of being in Europe for a long, long time,' these clubs haven't been in the club's DNA.' We are not a European club. We are now. In Europe, we are now in our third year in a row. I take pride in that. We certainly don't take it for granted,' explains the author.'
MICK LYONS, Everton's lion-hearted hero, is a dazzling presence who exudes passion for the sport, but Alzheimer's has left him struggling to recall specifics of his stellar career

MATT BARLOW: As he ducks through the door, Mick Lyons imitates the Everton legend. A regal presence with a warm smile, solid handshake, and the club emblem on his rain jacket was absorbed in tales of how he fell in love with the club. On matchdays, he and his brother Joseph would ride the 44D bus to make sure they were outside Goodison Park when the gates opened so they could dash to the old scoreboard. 'We'd be in there dead early, and we'd run to sit in the old box where they changed the scores,' Lyons says. We'd watch the game from there.' They were crowned 1963-63 in the league. Alex Young, a great player.'

BY JOE BERNSTEIN, a pioneering football agent, watched Don Revie's Leeds as a pupil, while his beloved client Gary Lineker played for Everton during the 1986 World Cup, changing their lives. However, there will be no split loyalties in Sunday's relegation war finale. Holmes is known as Mr Leicester City for a good reason, according to friends. I went to my first game at the age of seven and have done everything at the club since,' he says.' 'Fan, the stadium announcer, programme editor, chairman.'

Jordan, 71, is in Leeds United's interview with Manchester United and Manchester United. He has a definite love for both. He came of age at Leeds for seven years and played his best form at United. SPORTS AGENDA: Mark Pougatch, an ex-BBC, ridicules 5 p.m. results, sparking applause and applause at Dennis' departure

MIKE KEEGAN SPORTS AGENDA: With every passing display, the BBC's decision to withdraw the classified football scores from Sports Report's 5 p.m. becomes more bizarre. Despite the outrage unleashed when Sports Agenda revealed that they had abandoned a national institution, the bosses remained silent for a second week. According to the broadcaster, a reduced showtime of 30 minutes, as a result of them securing the commentary rights to the 5.30pm kick-off, meant they did not have time to determine the 'five-seven minutes' it takes to read the scores. On Sunday morning, BBC Radio 4 blasted Auntie's blunder openly and humourously. Mark Pougatch (pictured), the program's founder, found out spoof findings, beginning with 'Knutsford 0 Nuts Decision 2', the program's traditional tones.
