I hear that her son, chef Alasdair Gill, surprised his mother on her 60th birthday by announcing that he had an inking in her honour. Alasdair, 29, Rudd's late former husband, the respected journalist AA Gill, said last year that Gill's book, Pour Me: A Life, supported him in his fight against alcoholism. Gill had to tackle his own heroin use.
