NBA fans can become bored with superstars. The cycle follows something similar: you enter the league, rise to fame, and, if you're really good enough, launch yourself into MVP discussions three to four years ago. Some, such as Giannis Antetokounmpo (24 years old when he won his first) and Derrick Rose (22 years old), will be rewarded for their efforts remarkably quickly.

How the French sensation blends with NBA lottery teams is a mystery
www.dailymail.co.uk,
May 14, 2023
Victor Wembanyama, France's top export, is poised to replace wine as France's top export, a 7-foot-4 basketball sensation. He's athletic, skilled, vast, and yet only 19, so the winning team will undoubtedly be considered very lucky as the league selects its first pick on Tuesday night in New York. It's either way or not Wembanyama will feel the same way. The 14 teams in Tuesday's lottery aren't all positive, and that's by design. The lottery is supposed to enhance the league's bottom feeders by (slightly) deterring them from tanking their seasons in an attempt to land a top talent in the draft, such as Wembanyama. Mail Online's preview of Wembanyama's 14 future teams, how he'd fit, and what these clubs need to do to attract the NBA's most coveted prospect in a generation.

Madison Square Garden is restored to its glory days by Knicks and Rangers

It's called The World's Most Popular Arena, but Madison Square Garden has been more renowned than ever in the 21st century, a place where celebrity athletes routinely fail to impress, and teaching careers go to die. The Manhattan arena's tenants haven't even sniffed a title this millennium, despite the New York Rangers' Stanley Cup Finals loss in 2014. Although New York has had some success on the track, the hardwood has been much crueler, as the Knicks have won only three playoff series since being in the NBA Finals in 1999. But now, with the support of some new blood, the Knicks and Rangers are giving irritated fans a reason to be excited about visiting Madison Square Garden for the first time in years.

Meet Theo McFarland - the international basketball player from Samoa who is Saracens new star
www.dailymail.co.uk,
October 8, 2022
Exclusive BY SIMON: Theo McFarland and his seven siblings were forced to make their own fun during their early years in Moamoa, Samoan. There was no satellite TV or internet access at the time. No one was able to buy boots and balls. They were surrounded by nature and lived off the land. 'We had a huge plot of property, so there was always something to do,' says Saracens' forward. We didn't have the funds for electronics, so we were climbing trees or playing in the river behind our house.' We'll go and catch prawns. If we'd rather use our hands, we'd make this tool with a rubber band that would catch them. So you can lift it up and go. My older brothers were really good at it. We'd be catching heaps. 'Take them home and cook them.' They grew bananas, mangoes, taro, yam, coconuts, and pawpawpaw. The siblings would walk hand in hand, no machinery, before spending hours on sports.
