Judith Wadsworth (left), the bride-to-be's mother, had arrived at the hotel ahead of her daughter's wedding, which was scheduled to take place the next day. Nicholas Bannister (right) hit her with his Range Rover while crossing an access road. When the grandmother was struck by the car, she was walking from the car park to the Coniston Hotel and Spa's main reception. Bannister, the hotel's owner and managing director, had walked a short distance from the front of the hotel and is estimated to have been traveling between 9mph and 12mph at the time, according to Bradford Crown Court. Dr. David Usher, an ergonomics specialist, told the jury today that he had reviewed all of the available facts to determine Mrs Wadsworth's 'conspicuity' from both Mrs Wadsworth to Bannister and the Range Rover to Mrs Wadsworth.
