Around me outside the Libyan Embassy, my mates were getting stuck in first aid kits, pressing hands onto wounds, and screaming on radios to alert others what had happened. As they begged for assistance, one of the men they were helping was cling out in pain. 'Wake up, sir.' She needs you.' Howard's voice had been measured and soothing. He took a steady, encouraging hand on my shoulder. I rushed back, hoping to see his resolute face. Fear was what I saw at the time, and it was fear that was overwhelming. As he began closing the ambulance door, a medic declared, 'Now or never, lad.' I took a look at the inside. On the bench behind the passenger seat, Yvonne was on her back. Her hand reached out toward me, the fingers bloodied and trembling. The door slammed behind us as I stepped forward and into the ambulance's crowded interior.

Authors argued that the National Institute for Health, which is responsible for performing research into some of the world's deadliest pathogens, had refused to reveal the details' of its research. It's not the first time the 198-year-old journal, led by editor-in-chief Richard Horton (bottom right), has been accused of supporting China's argument that Covid did not appear in its borders. Professor Jeffrey Sachs (top right), the source of The Lancet's Covid-19 Commission paper, has been dubbed 'Xi's propagandist' because of his pro-Beijing remarks.
