In an attempt to prevent an ice cream van from'stealing their customers,' ice cream vendors at a beauty store in New Forest are fighting a 'cold war.' Businesses are now trying to stop the new ice cream van, which attracted a chilly reception when it first opened two years ago, from renewing its lease. Bourbon ice cream parlours and cafes in Lyndhurst, Hampshire, complained that footfall and sales had melted away since the introduction of Warren's Ice Cream. Warren Dickens, a ice cream maker, opened a shop just yards from Lyndhurst High Street, in the parking lot of Bolton's Bench, a popular tourist destination to the New Forest National Park.
According to the paper, a world record-holder running magazine manager is accused of posting fake times for the London Marathon: Kate Carter, an Oxford-educated student,'may have used computers to manually produce results' showing she ran the entire marathon,' not having a clue'

Carter, 47, was in the majority of the run, but it was possible to manually enter GPS information based on a course map that was four years old, according to the newspaper. In an effort to kick off their month-long march of mayhem, Met Police arrested 31 eco-protestors today. Just Stop Oil founders occupied four bridges in the capital, causing gridlock on busy highways, before converging on Parliament. The demonstrations were the start of a 'October revolt' that was revealed last week in The Mail's undercover investigation. Just Stop Oil said it had brought central London to a halt by blocking four main bridges to Westminster, including Waterloo, Westminster, Lambeth, and Vauxhall.
