She has filed eight counts against them in her case, and she is suing for punitive and compensatory damages at trial. Judge Julie S. Sneed found that Miscavige was "actually concealing his position or evading service" and that attorneys had attempted to locate him. Sneed said that opposing lawyers had gone to the appropriate extent to protect Miscavige, including appearing at Scientology clinics and asking for the man's address 27 times. Miscavige has been described as "nowhere to be found" by guards and Scientology experts. Valeska Paris and her partner and wife, Gawain and Laura Baxter, who claim they were kidnapped into Scientology as children and coerced to serve as adults for little to no compensation, is facing a trafficking lawsuit in 2022.

During a monologue, Golden Globes host Jerrod Carmichael joked about Scientology

www.dailymail.co.uk, January 11, 2023
In alienating Tom Cruise from the awards ceremony on Tuesday, Golden Globes host Jerrod Carmichael struck no punches in alienating him from the proceedings. Carmichael, 35, appeared clutching three Golden Globe awards prior to presenting two of Cruise's Top Gun: Maverick co-stars. Cruise won his three prizes in 2021 in protest against the absence of black Golden Globe voters. 'I discovered these three Golden Globe awards from Tom Cruise's return,' he said.' 'I'm just the host, but I have a pitch,' the comedian, who started the show by ridiculing the Hollywood Foreign Press's racial stereotypes, added: "I'm just the host... but I have a pitch.' I think we should take these three items and trade them for Shelly Miscavige's safe return to her homeland.' The cruise did not attend the service. Shelly, the wife of Scientology's Chief David Miscavige, hasn't been seen outside of August 2007. It's not clear if Carmichael was insinuating that Cruise might have some information about Shell's whereabouts. For 30 years, the actor has been a Scientologist.

According to the Tampa Bay Times, authorities have attempted to deliver papers to Miscavige, 62, on 27 occasions over the course of four months in the Clearwater-area in Florida and Los Angeles. The guards were clueless when lawyers appeared at Scientology companies and asked security guards about Miscavige's whereabouts, according to the guards. In an attempt to track him down, the attorneys in the lawsuit have even employed a private investigator. Lawyers also went direct and sent an Instagram message to the church's official page to inquire about Miscavige at one point. Former church members, husband and wife, Gawain, Laura Baxter, and Valeska Paris have filed a lawsuit. After signing a one-year deal in exchange for little or no money, the three children were coerced into labor on Scientology boats as teenagers. In 2009, Paris was decommissioned, and Gawain and Laura Baxter were deposed in 2012.

According to a new book by a high-ranking officer, Scientology spied on Nicole Kidman and swiped her phone.'

www.dailymail.co.uk, September 27, 2022
According to the book 'A Billion Years: My Experience from a Life in the Highest Ranks of Scientology, the church of Scientology leaders desperately tried to keep the couple apart as they feared Nicole Kidman would pull Tom Cruise away from the tense religious movement.' They did so because Cruise, a long-serving church officer, began to ignore Scientology head David Miscavige's calls when the actor and Kidman were filming the film 'Eyes Wide Shut' in London in 1997, according to former high-ranking church officer Mike Rinder. Miscavige was suspicious of the actor's second wife because she had not expressed a deep desire for Scientology and that he was possibly afraid of losing control of Cruise, to the point that he allegedly ordered Kidman's phone to be intercepted.
