He's had an impressive career spanning a whopping 60 years and is one of Britain's most loved and respectable actors with famed roles in Only Fools And Horses, Open All Hours, A Touch Of Frost and The Darling Buds Of May among others.  But while David Jason has entertained legions of fans with a variety of comedic, gritty and heartwarming parts, the star, 84, has recently revealed the heartbreaking health reason he now opts for the roles in animated shows and films.  Speaking in a new interview, the self-confessed work addict told how he prefers cartoon roles because he struggles to learn lines due to his advanced years.

David Jason has called out Hollywood stars that are 'extremely difficult' to work with, as he revealed the touching gift he had been given from his late friend Ronnie Barker. The Only Fools and Horses star, 84, formed a strong bond with comedy legend Ronnie, who passed away in 2005 at the age of 76. The pair first worked together in 1969, going on to both star in The Odd Job before their roles opposite each other in Porridge, Seven of One and most famously, Open All Hours.

Returning as an electric SUV, the Capri is a Capri in name only say critics.

One of British comedy's most legendary stars appears to have barely aged a day since rising to fame as a member of Peckham's finest, as she enjoyed a night out with a pal in London's Soho on Tuesday. The actress, who is now 64, beamed as she headed out for the evening with a friend, 35 years after making her first appearance in the famous comedy. Since her role in one of Britain's most famous comedies, this actress has gone onto star in a variety of dramas, and also had a recurring role on EastEnders in 2016.

It was the BBC that supported iconic British comedies with laugh-a-minute jokes such as Fawlty Towers, Only Fools and Horses and Absolutely Fabulous (above) - but the broadcaster's Jon Petrie is the first to admit recent shows have missed the mark. Even recent hits in the 2000s like Outnumbered, Gavin and Stacey and Not Going Out - now Britain's longest running sitcom - gave way to comedy dramas or 'dramedies' that tend to be weightier watches, such as Fleabag. But Mr Petrie told the BBC Comedy Festival that the UK mainstream comedy scene needed 'a couple of Berocca and a black americano'. His comments came as the BBC said new Outnumbered and Gavin and Stacey specials were on the horizon.

A woollen checked flat hat believed to have been worn by David Jason during Only Fools and Horses' opening credit sequences in the mid-1980s has gone on sale. It was originally donated to the Only Fools and Horses Appreciation Society before being acquired by a fan collector. They are now selling it at Auctioneum Ltd, of Bristol, who say it is a 'uniquely important piece of comedy history'. Auctioneer Andrew Stowe said: 'Del Boy is an iconic character and part of his signature look was the flat cap. And here we have one of the actual ones from the series.'

The Only Fools and Horses tower block known to millions of fans as Nelson Mandela House is earmarked for demolition and can, at best, be described as 'shabby'. But residents still love living there. The Trotters lived on the 12th floor of the tower block on the fictional Nyrere Estate in Peckham, South London, but in reality the exterior of Nelson Mandela House was filmed on a council estate in Acton, West London. It is seen at the beginning of every episode of Only Fools episode during the title sequence, and also appeared in the 1985 special To Hull and Back. The three-bedroom flat was home to the Trotter family, including Del Boy (Sir David Jason), his younger brother Rodney (Nicholas Lyndhurst), and other relatives who also lived there during the show's run between 1981 and 2003. Ealing Council has earmarked Harlech Tower to be torn down in 2027 as part of an £850 million regeneration project that will offer more homes.

Jay, 54, has taken up residence at the former Branston Pickle factory in Bermondsey, south of London, which has been converted into a modern residential and working space named The Pickle Factory. Jay&Co, a locally based restoration company in Shropshire, will display its latest collection of bespoke contemporary furniture and interior pieces created by other up-and-coming artisan craftspeople from Friday, March 15 to March 17. The exhibit, which comes days after the unveiling of a tenth series of The Repair Shop, for which Jay is now well-known, will feature demonstrations of how parts are lovingly repaired by Jay's staff.

The bottle is going to auction in Bristol and will be up for auction for obsessives wishing to get a piece of Only Fools nostalgia on February 28.

Sir David switched to the cockpit of a 1950s Victor jet bomber complete with nuclear trigger, teaming up with Jay Blades from The Repair Shop as their Touring Toolshed (BBC2). Gordon Talbot, a retired aircraft fitter, was in the pilot's seat, guiding him through the procedure for opening the bomb bay and unleashing an atomic blast. David is 83 years old. He was a lad in comparison to 94-year-old Gordon who was beloved for playing Del Boy in Only Fools And Horses. It's possible that placing blokes from their age in charge of the nuclear deterrent is a smart idea. With a bit of luck, by the time they've scrambled and airborne, the international crisis may have been resolved and another holocaust has been avoided.

Brigit Forsyth, a comedian who appeared in the sitcom Still Open All Hours, has died at the age of 83. In the early hours of Friday morning, the Scottish actress passed away 'fully in her sleep surrounded by her family,' according to her handler Mark Pemberton. During her career she had a starring in Whatever Happened To The Likely Lads?Thelma Ferris, Rodney Bewes' long-distance wife of Rodney Bewes' character Bob, is the center of a fighting game, according to the cult 70s BBC sitcom. In the 80s, the comedy actress went on to appear in Tom, Dick, and Harriet, as well as Sharon and Elsie. Since being a member of David Jason's comedy Still Open All Hours between 2013 and 2019, she was reintroduced to a younger audience.

Following hip surgery, Sir David Jason appeared upbeat on ITV's Lorraine to give a health check, and he said his 'bionic' hip is 'wonderful.' Despite his health scare, the Only Fools and Horses convention was postponed until January next year, with him announcing that his operation had been'successful' and filming a video of him clearly denying his crutches. The clip was played on Lorraine when he joined the show and spoke of his recovery.

Since being compelled to postpone an Only Fools And Horses convention, Sir David Jason has given a much-anticipated health check. In August, the actor, 83, who appeared on the BBC's "Only Fools" sitcom from 1981 to 2003, revealed that he had to have hip surgery to get a "bionic body part fitted." The convention was postponed to next year due to his health scare, as he took to Twitter on Sunday to inform his followers.
