French actor and singer Phillippe Katerine was playing the role of the Greek god of wine Dionysus in a recreation of the famous biblical scene of Jesus Christ and his twelve apostles sharing a last meal before the crucifixion. But the artistic imitation, which also included a group of drag queens and a transgender model, has caused offence among some Christians for making a 'gross mockery' of the religion. However Mr Katerine seemed to dismiss the critics, telling BFM TV today: 'It wouldn't be fun if there were no controversy. Wouldn't it be boring if everyone agreed on this planet?' Although others were less impressed, accusing organisers of creating a ' woke ' parody of the iconic painting by Leonardo da Vinci.

A BBC radio presenter has sparked anger after saying that US President Joe Biden should have Donald Trump 'murdered'. David Aaronovitch, who presents Radio 4's Briefing Room show, took to X/ Twitter yesterday: 'If I was Biden I'd hurry up and have Trump murdered on the basis that he is a threat to America's security # SCOTUS '. It comes after the US Supreme Court ruled that former US presidents have broad immunity from prosecution, extending the delay in the Washington criminal case against Trump on charges he plotted to overturn his 2020 presidential election loss and all but ending prospects the former president could be tried before the November election.

There's a great moment in the Barbie film where Margot Robbie blurts out, 'Do you guys ever think about dying?' and everyone is shocked. But I can assure you that oldies like me (I'm 79) think about dying the whole time and talk about it too.

Universities have become so terrified of free speech I've launched a Faculty of Common Sense, writes PROFESSOR ERIC KAUFMANN who was hounded out of his job at the University of London
www.dailymail.co.uk,

PROFESSOR ERIC KAUFMANN: Woke ideology has a way of generating terms that bring a shiver down the spine. One chilling dictum sums up the dogma: "The procedure is the punishment." What does it mean? It's just that speaking out against hard-Left orthodoxy is causing a certain amount of resentment. Academics do not have to be guilty of any professional blunder. The accusation of a thoughtcrime alone is sufficient to inflame anxiety and fear, silence opposition, and force obedience.

DAVID AARONOVITCH: They've been out of Ozempic (a brand name for the injectable drug semaglutide) for three weeks now, and they have no idea when it will be back in. If the situation doesn't change, I'll be finding out if people who stop injecting will simply pile the pounds back on. I'm growing curious that there's a sense of slim people who will be secretly joking.
The truth is out there - or is it? BY DAVID AARONOVITCH, VOODOO HISTORIES

Here are a few of the conspiracy theories that have perplexed, stunned, and befuddled us over the past 50 years - the Kennedy assassinations, Princess Diana's, and Dr. David Kelly's death, the 'faked' Apollo moon landing, and the assertion that Jesus' descendants are among us. According to PETER LEWIS, the journalist David Aaronovitch has written a book for those who would rather have the unvarnished if boring truth than the colorful world of paranoia.
