On Saturday night, the dance maestro battled bone cancer and died peacefully, surrounded by his family. He was 79 on tomorrow, the same age his father Leonard was when he died (together). The American version of Strictly Come Dancing with the Stars' founder, Michael McCarthy, had the right idea in December 2022, just weeks after returning as head judge on Dancing with the Stars.' He loved gardening and had a stroke while out in the garden. He was 79 years old, so it will be next year.' Len (inset dancing with his first wife Cherry) announced that he was going to spend more time with his wife Sue and his children, Alice, seven, and Jack, four. Jenny Johnston, the reporter's interviewer, then suggested that he write his obituary. "He was a dance instructor from Dartford who was lucky," he told her. Because that's just about the truth of it.' Fans have debated whether he knew he was in danger even before being diagnosed with prostate cancer in March 2009. In September 2021, it was announced that he had undergone surgery the previous year for a small facial melanoma. I don't care about stuff like this,' he told the Mail. It's similar to when you have a car, but even so, you'll have some problems with your carburettor, and you'll have to get it fixed, and the whole thing will crumble, and there you go. It's more about the journey, and mine has been simply delectable.'
