After a string of form and a crippling transfer window at the King Power, winless Leicester heads into the international break rock bottom of the Premier League. Leicester was on track to produce one of the best underdog stories in sporting history for seven years, if not the best underdog tales in history. Sportsmail has a look at where Leicester's championship-winning crew from 2015-16 has failed to flourish in the midst of a difficult stretch for the Foxes.

The Premier League returned on Friday to offer fans with a marginally reduced schedule this weekend, sandwiched between last weekend's uprising and the forthcoming international break. Although Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United, Leeds, Brighton, Brighton, and Crystal Palace all missed out, the weekend's action left managers with a lot to chew over - and every Premier League manager will start examining the first two and a half months of the season. With that in mind, Sportsmail has analyzed all of the key talking points from the top flight this weekend, summarising ten lessons we learned from the seven fixtures.

The South Korean forward has had an uneven start to his career, having failed to find the ball before Saturday's match against Leicester, and Antonio Conte dropped him to the bench as a result. Conte decided to bring on his mercurial South Korean forward after leading at the end just after the interval through Rodrigo Bentancur.

Son Heung-min was eager to return from being dropped with a spectacular hat-trick to help Tottenham thrail Leicester 6-2. The joint-top goalscorer in all competitions had no goals from his first eight games, and he was selected among the replacements for the visiting Foxes. Son had the opportunity to participate in the action after watching Harry Kane, Eric Dier, and Rodrigo Bentancur net during the first 47 minutes and responded with two spectacular strikes until VAR ruled he was offside.

ROB DRAPER AT THE TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR STADIUM: If you wanted a team to play against to break your goal-scoring duck, then Leicester City would be your first choice at this point. So when Heung-min Son came to the field on 59 minutes after struggling to score so far this season, you might have guessed that his bad form would soon be coming to an end. Leicester, who were 3-2 down and last in the table on a point, had already shown the kind of defense that would have given your average Sunday League No.9 a chance, let alone a player of Son's caliber. He took him a few minutes to get to his stride, but it took him a little while to settle. But he will be in a generous mood at Leicester, as you can imagine. And when Rodrigo Bentancur, a tenacious ball hooper in the second half, stripped them of their possession and boosted an enticing ball into Son's path on 74 minutes, you didn't have to be Mystic Meg to guess what was coming.
How Erik ten Hag has turned Manchester United around after fourth straight win

It was one of Manchester United's lowest points in modern history. Their players returned to the dressing room after losing Brentford by four goals, and Erik ten Hag (inset left) seemed to be overwhelmed by the size of his rebuilding effort. If the Bees could destroy United so quickly, it did not bother wondering what the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool would do to them. But a quick three weeks and United's look like they've been transformed. Liverpool lost against all odds and early Premier League pacesetters Arsenal as well, not to mention Southampton and Leicester in between. Here's a closer glance at how Ten Hag has turned around United's tragic start to the season, including Cristiano Ronaldo (left), Marcus Rashford's fine form (centre), and Lisandro Martinez (right) and Christian Eriksen (right) settling in superbly.
Leicester's loss to Brighton was the kind of result that would have sacked a manager

TOM COLLOMOSSE AT AMEX STADIUM: With his team losing their fifth match in a row and his future in jeopardy, Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers called on the best player in the club's history to bail him out. Jamie Vardy, who had been left on the bench after a flat opening to the campaign, took the field less than 20 minutes. If Vardy - Premier League champion, FA Cup winner and holder of numerous records - could not get Leicester out of jail, then who could? Unfortunately for Rodgers, Leicester had just gone 4-2 down and Brighton was out of sight. And if you like him or not, this was the kind of job that could have cost a manager their salary. The home fans knew it, chanting 'Sacked in the morning!' Visitors in Rodgers were greeted with mauled visitors. And the traveling fans knew it, and it's likely that Leicester's owners and Rodgers himself knew it, as well as Leicester's mayor and Rodgers himself. The coming days seem to be pivotal.
