TGI Fridays has confirmed a rescue deal has been completed meaning more than 2,000 jobs will be saved after the fast food chain collapsed into administration last month. The future of the brand was hanging in the balance and a third of it's restaurants risked closing permanently after the company had stumbled upon hard times. And earlier today, Daniel Smith and Julian Heathcote of Teneo were appointed as joint administrators, as the company announced it would shut 35 sites and cut 1,000 jobs immediately. But Breal Capital and Calveton UK, which jointly own the upmarket restaurants business D&D London , have agreed a deal which means 51 branches will remain open and just under 2,400 jobs will be saved. The potential deal is thought to include the chain's existing leases and the right to use the TGI Fridays brand in the UK.
