Daniel Hugh Kelly (born August 10, 1952) is an American stage, film, and television actor.
He is best known for his appearance on ABC's 1980s ABC television series Hardcastle and McCormick (1983–86) as ex-con Mark "Skid" McCormick, co-starring Brian Keith.
Early life
Kelly, a middle of five children, was born and raised in Elizabeth, New Jersey, where his grandfather and father were police officers/detectives and his mother was a social worker. In 1970, he attended and graduated from Roselle Catholic High School. He completed a full scholarship at St. Vincent College (Latrobe, Pennsylvania) in 1974.
Career
Kelly appeared in a number of Off-Broadway and Off-Broadway productions, mainly at The Public Theater and Second Stage Theatre. Kelly, a representative of a regional repertory theater, has worked with the Williamstown Theater Festival (Massachusetts), the Folger Theater (DC), Arena Stage (DC), and the Actors Theatre of Louisville, among other things.
He toured with the National Players, the country's oldest classical touring company. In 1989, he appeared in Born Yesterday opposite Madeline Kahn's Billie, and in 1990, he appeared in Cat opposite Kathleen Turner's Maggie in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. He appeared at the Mark Taper Forum (Los Angeles), originating Richard in Lisa Loomer's Living Out.

He appeared in several television series, including Law & Order, Special Victims Unit, The West Wing, Los Angeles, Supernatural, Major Crimes, Boston Legal, Las Vegas, and Walker, Texas Ranger.
Among other things, he appeared in miniseries and television films, including Passing Glory, The Tuskegee Airmen, Citizen Cohn, From the Earth to the Moon, and The Nutcracker. Cujo's feature film appearances include the 1983 horror film Cujo, The Good Son, The In Crowd, Chill Factor, Nowhere to Hide, Someone to Watch Over Me, and Star Trek: Insurrection.
