News about Damon Albarn

No social media. No smartphones. No men in women's loos. Just wine bars, Wonderbras and loads of fun. The 90s was the last great decade, reveals SARAH VINE

www.dailymail.co.uk, September 20, 2024
God, the Nineties were fun. It was a decade of possibility. Communism was dead, the Berlin Wall had fallen, the world felt safe for the first time in an age. It was party time. There was no internet - or none to really speak of - and certainly no social media. People had fun, fell in love, fought, fell out in the real world, not via a screen.

From the model son of a Britpop legend to the daughter of a boyband megastar - can YOU guess the music legends who are parents to these nepo-babies?

www.dailymail.co.uk, September 19, 2024
For years, the music scene has been dominated by the biggest names in Britpop, enthralling millions with their incredible tracks. But for some of these stars, it appears that they're already on the brink of being overshadowed by their equally-famous offspring. A string of A-list nepo babies are already making their mark in showbiz, taking over the scenes of music, fashion and art.

The Gallagher kids reunite for cosy pub trip as the foursome unwind with a pint after Burberry show as Lennon and Anais end their feud

www.dailymail.co.uk, September 17, 2024
The Gallagher clan enjoyed a chill pint together on the London Southbank as they unwound after the Burberry show on Monday.  After reuniting on the front row during the London Fashion Week show earlier in the day, the foursome headed to a pub to relax in the sun together.  Noel's daughter Anais was joined by Liam's three children Lennon, Gene and Molly as the foursome spent some quality time together after their father's buried the hatchet for their upcoming tour.

Battle of the bands! Oasis kids and Blur hit the Burberry show at London Fashion Week

www.dailymail.co.uk, September 17, 2024
Given their rekindled affection and imminent tour, it was hoped the Gallagher brothers would be among the guests at yesterday's Burberry show - not least because Liam's son, 25-year-old Lennon, modelled in last year's presentation. But it was Britpop royalty of a different kind that took a prime seat at the London Fashion Week event - Blur frontman Damon Albarn, Oasis's arch nemesis. Whether the legendary Blur v Oasis feud has been passed down through the generations is unclear, but perhaps to be on the safe side, Albarn and his daughter, Missy, were seated far away from any Gallagher guests. These included Noel's daughter, Anais, Liam's daughter, Molly, and his sons Lennon and Gene (pictured left).

Taylor Swift fans brand singer the 'queen of karma' as her enemies suffer falls from grace including Dave Grohl to Scooter Braun

www.dailymail.co.uk, September 12, 2024
Taylor Swift is on top of the world, last night picking up seven VMAs and cementing her status as the most decorated solo artist of all time. But, as the old adage says, you don't get to the top, without making some enemies along the way.   And the mega-star, who is on a break before the final leg of her billion dollar record breaking Eras Tour, has certainly had her fair share of beefs. Those who have come up against the 14-time Grammy winner - who famously told Vogue 'Karma is real'   - have seemed to have suffered from 'Tayvoodoo', the term her fans use for those who cross her. Most recently, Dave Grohl (left) sparked a row when he implied the singer doesn't perform live - before he sensationally admitted to cheating on his wife. Brawls with a cricket bat. A dog licking cocaine off the studio floor. Year by supersonic year, the highs and lows of Oasis

www.dailymail.co.uk, August 30, 2024
Today tickets go on sale for a reunion tour most people thought could never happen. The warring Gallagher brothers have put aside their differences and agreed to a 14-date Oasis tour in 2025. For 16 years, they were one the biggest bands on the planet, but Liam and Noel's constant feuding and fighting ultimately caused their demise. Jonathan Mayo charts the highs and lows of Oasis's supersonic career.

From love triangle rumours to BRUTAL insults and THAT chart battle: Inside the bitter feud between Oasis' Noel and Liam Gallagher and Blur's Damon Albarn that defined the Britpop era

www.dailymail.co.uk, August 27, 2024
It's no secret that brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher and Blur's frontman Damon Albarn haven't always seen eye to eye. The trio locked horns during the 90s when their bands - Oasis and Blur - were pitted against each other in the charts during the height of Britpop mania. The battle for chart dominance wasn't the only rivalry between the brothers and Damian as their bickering ended up getting very personal.

Blur: Live at Wembley Stadium review: A Triumphant comeback, writes ADRIAN THRILLS

www.dailymail.co.uk, July 26, 2024
I went to the second Wembley show, when an overwhelmed Damon sank to his knees and shed tears after the epic ballad Under The Westway, and his reactions were genuine. He's since described the July 2023 gigs as the best Blur ever played, so it's no surprise that the band are marking their first anniversary. A candid documentary, Blur: To The End, is in cinemas now, with a two-hour concert film following in September. There's also a new live album, out today on CD, vinyl, cassette and digitally.

www.dailymail.co.uk, July 2, 2024
The days when people moving from the city bought up isolated small holdings to live the 'good life' disappeared with Covid. Today's relocators have different criteria. Quite likely working from home, a gastro pub, attractive scenery, friendly community, fast wi-fi and reasonable communications to a town or city are on their wish lists. From a tiny coastal village to a posh, celebrity hangout, these are the Britain's top 20 WFH hotspots.

James Cleverly accuses Bansky of 'celebrating' migrant deaths in the Channel amid Tory anger at artist's Glastonbury inflatable boat stunt

www.dailymail.co.uk, July 1, 2024
Home Secretary James Cleverly lashed out at the dinghy with dummy migrants which surfed the crowd at a set by Bristol rock band Idles on Friday night before returning for rapper Little Simz on Saturday. The artist confirmed that the boat was his work following criticism from high-profile Conservative ministers over the weekend, and posted a video of the boat sailing through the crowd during the band's set to his Instagram page. Speaking to Sky News this morning, Mr Cleverly said: 'There are a bunch of people there joking and celebrating about criminal actions which costs lives, people die. 'People die in the Mediterranean, they die in the channel. This is not funny. It is vile. It is a celebration of the loss of life in the channel.'

Oliver Dowden is 'really saddened' by Banksy's Glastonbury inflatable migrant boat - saying traffickers putting migrant families' lives at risk is not 'the sort of thing to joke around with'

www.dailymail.co.uk, June 30, 2024
The maverick artist's dinghy with dummy migrants was used for crowdsurfing during the festival performance by rapper Little Simz last night - 24 hours after first being unveiled during the set by Bristol rock band Idles. Critics have branded the boat 'tasteless' and Mr Dowden this morning added his voice to the backlash, saying he was 'really saddened' by the gesture. He highlighted how trafficking gangs endanger migrants who hand over thousands of pounds for hazardous journeys across the Channel which can prove fatal. Only two months ago, five people - including a seven-year-old girl - died while trying to reach Britain by crossing the Channel from France .

SARAH VINE: Whether in the name of war or the name of woke, it's always women who get it in the neck

www.dailymail.co.uk, June 30, 2024
The idea of going to Glastonbury has never really appealed to me. I'm sure it's great fun if you're into clammy sleeping bags, overpriced veggie-burgers, warm beer, chemical toilets and middle-aged women in sequins, but strangely, I'm not. But even if I was suddenly seized by an irrational urge to spend five nights in a tent slowly basting in my own juices, I don't think I could stomach it. Not so much because of the swarms of influencers taking selfies, or the New Age charlatans hawking their wares - but because it has just become so incredibly political. Let's face it, Glastonbury these days isn't really about the music (this year's line-up was less than electrifying) - it's just an opportunity for Left-wing luvvies to take to the stage and spout their one-sided, half-baked opinions to an audience of adoring fans too starry-eyed or too wasted to do anything other than bleat their approval like a herd of lobotomised sheep.

Banksy's inflatable boat with dummy migrants returns for a second night

www.dailymail.co.uk, June 29, 2024
The rapper wowed Glastonbury without a band or backing singers for several songs and just the aid of a DJ for much of her set. But in footage showing her performance, the controversial dinghy can be seen in the corner of the screen. The inflatable was first seen during the Idles' performance, and it has since been described as 'tasteless'. Only two months ago, five people - including a seven-year-old girl - died while trying to reach Britain by crossing the Channel from France. Alp Mehmet, chairman of Migration Watch UK, said of the Banksy dinghy: 'How childish. Illegal immigration, from which hard criminals make millions, is neither cool nor edgy.' One furious BBC viewer said on X: 'I think it's in appalling taste and absolutely inappropriate in that setting.'

Banksy let loose inflatable boat with dummy migrants onto crowd at Glastonbury during Idles gig - as band say they were unaware of stunt until they left the stage

www.dailymail.co.uk, June 29, 2024
An inflatable boat with dummy migrants which was launched onto the crowd at Glastonbury during a gig was let loose by Banksy . Idles, who were performing a set when the incident took place, say they were unaware of the stunt until they left the stage. During last night's set, the rock band also led the Glastonbury crowd in chanting 'f*** the king' as the festival turned political with the band's vocalist Joe Talbot also singing an 'anti-Farage song'. Idles' politically-charged performance was just one of a number of statements made during the third day of the festival in Somerset.

www.dailymail.co.uk, June 29, 2024
Rock band Idles led the Glastonbury crowd in chanting 'f*** the king' as the festival turned political on Friday night. The band's vocalist Joe Talbot also sang an 'anti-Farage song' while a small blow-up boat surfed the crowd in a pro-immigration protest. Idles' politically-charged performance was just one of a number of statements made during the third day of the festival in Somerset. Blur frontman Damon Albarn discussed Gaza and suggested Joe Biden was too old to be president during his surprise appearance at Worthy Farm. It came as Welsh singer Charlotte Church also sang 'free Palestine' and wore a keffiyeh as she led an improvised number with the audience.

www.dailymail.co.uk, June 28, 2024
Lulu proved that age was just a number as she took to the stage at Glastonbury on Friday.  The singer, 75, showcased her age-defying looks as she wowed the crowd at Worthy Farm  after announcing her retirement from touring.  The Scottish pop star looked incredible in black tassled trousers and a black shirt, while also sporting her bleached blonde locks and a sun-kissed tan.

KENNEDY: We all know why blubbery bistro blowhard Keith McPiggy branded perpetual trout-pout Lauren Sanchez 'revolting'...

www.dailymail.co.uk, April 17, 2024
Maybe he's a lonely leprechaun looking for his four-leafed clover (divorced since 2018). But McNally's sordid smears have now sagged lower than his man teats. He's posted pic after sumptuous pic of Lauren's sensual blowup doll lips, overflowing water balloons and curvy hip meat. No doubt McNasty wishes he had such a primed and plumped dame as his catch of the day. But a man - who looks like the extruded byproduct of a blasphemous union of a sloth and Gru - should probably put the insults on a simmer.

Blur's Damon Albarn blasts apathetic Coachella crowd and vows not to return as fans call audience a 'disgrace' for staying silent during their set: 'You're never seeing us again, so you might as well f****** sing it'

www.dailymail.co.uk, April 15, 2024
Blur's Damon Albarn has slammed the crowd at Coachella, while fans branded the festival goers as 'embarrassing' after their apathetic reaction during the band's set. The iconic Britpop band played a 13-song set at the California-based music festival, including 90s classics like Girls & Boys, Popscene and Song 2. They also brought out the Torres Martinez Cahuilla Bird Singers, a group of tribal singers from the Mojave Desert, where Coachella is held.
